I honestly thought that there was a platform there (on and off the park) to build on next season but it seems that Bathgate don't do continuity and stability. If surviving in the Premier League with somewhat limited resources isn't good enough. it'll be interesting to see what is expected from the new management team. All the best to Barrie for the future.

A good base was ther before and was ignored for something shiny and look what happened, you reap wot you sow :)

The season before we had Swan,.. This time around there did look to be a decent platform to build from... At the end of the day both achieved the same thing, Premier League survival...

He had a full pre-season, made his own signings yet nearly got them relegated.....what kinda reward should he have got? Taking the club in the right direction right enough eh :)

Eh another season ...but hey only my opinion....don't really care what you do to be honest

There's survival and there's scraping it by the skin of yer erse, last season with swan and the other players they Wer close to snatching promotion but the dalkeith loss scuppered that, plans Wer made but dismissed for the "other" option, this season has been woeful and in some committees eyes "utter shite" so to compare the 2 are laughable, what's the next stage in the rebuilding process gonna be?

Second half of the season was a drastic improvement on the first. For that reason I'd have given Barrie to Christmas.

We can't continue to think the grass is greener at the end of every season. The only thing that's consistent with the managerial merry-go-round we've enjoyed over the last few years is a lower finish in the league the following season...

You finished 8th last season, 10 points off the play-off spot and 11 points above relegation

This season you finished 13th, 19 points of the play-off spot and 3 points above relegation.

Neither season appears to have been particularly inspiring. It seems a bit harsh to give the manager only one season to turn things around.

Why not, you need a committee to buy into what your doing and as I said before the plans were there and they ignored them for the "better" option and it didn't work, had they been relegated I'm sure they woulda been happy in the south league, saving a fortune on buses :) :) :)
