Looking at the current squad list I think we need an experienced centre half and preferably another option at left back as I don't think we have enough strength in depth in those areas. Should be fine at right back with Doyle, pepper and kilday.

In midfield we are very short of wingers. At the very least 2 need to come in and hopefully a defensive midfielder.

Up front is probably our weakest area just now. Again I think we need at least 2 strikers in.

All of this depends on where Duffy sees each players main position I.e. Is pepper going to be a fullback, centre mid or a winger or is oware going to be deployed at centre half or centre mid. Don't think anyone could second guess the managers thoughts on this!

The players budget and loan market will also have a huge impact on who else we bring in. On the whole Duffy has made good decisions when adding to the squad. Here's hoping he gets it right again this year.

Pepper can cover for Russell if injured and Lamie/Oware could even do a job for a game or so if needed. I would be pretty annoyed if we signed a left back seeing as we have more pressing issues further up the park.

On Pepper, I think he will be this years Tam O'Ware. He did well in either full back position last year when required and we know he is decent in midfield as well. I'm not sure if he will be a certain starter every week but he will definitely be involved most weeks. Good option to have in the squad.

He would be a good option, but I'd be worried if we signed him as our main striker, he's injured quite regularly.

I also share these fears.

As good as he is I'd hate to see what would most likely be our top earner spend half the season in the stands.

He was superb for us though so I'd have been happy to retain him and take the risk.

That season ticket promo is indeed cringe worthy but it's 100 times more creative than anything the club has ever done to promote.....well anything.

That's from an unofficial fan page is it not?

Did Declan McMannus reject a contract offer from you guys?

Aye.

He is still contracted to Fleetwood as far as we know so not sure how we could have offered him a contract but either way, he has confirmed he wont be returning to us this season.

He said in the paper that we put a offer to him, and he felt it wasn't right.

Yeah i seen that. What i mean is, I'm not sure how we could do that if he hasn't been released by Fleetwood.

He says as much in the same article, that he might well stay at Fleetwood.

I'm guessing he has been told, if you find a club you are free to leave.

He's effectively on the transfer list with an asking price of £0 (or who knows, maybe a nominal fee was offered to Fleetwood as well) - Fleetwood accepted that offer but McManus and the club weren't able to agree personal terms. It's the same process that happens every time we sign some dumpling on a one or even two year deal, then decide that we have to punt him in the January transfer window - we don't pay the contract off and the player isn't stupid enough to leave without securing a deal elsewhere. That's when Dunfermline normally step in to kindly take the dross for us.
