'Players' mentioned 6 times there, someone's been paying attention to their media training

....or maybe as the manager of the team at the foot of the league he's just aware of where he should be concentrating his efforts first and foremost?

yeah, it’s a tough question all right……..

The plot thickens,

who are the mystery investor who want to takeover..

the usual suspects?

Whoever they are, their derisory offer of repainting the crush barriers and putting in proper hand dryers in the toilets, in exchange for a majority share in the football club and ownership of Cappielow, has been put in the bin, and rightly so.  No idea who the chancers involved are but having achieved fan ownership, we're hardly going to throw it away.  Investment in Morton is always welcome but maintaining a majority stake owned by the supporters is more important, to prevent the possibility of "Hugh Scott Returns - Nightmare on Sinclair Street" going on general release.

Aye, I fully understand some MCT members asking why details like this aren't being shared with the membership before a decision is taken by the board to reject it without any consultation, as a decision on selling any of MCT's shares is for the wider membership to take, not whoever happens to be on the board at any given time. However if they've done a bit of due diligence and concluded that they're dealing with some Angelo Massone type chancers, then I'm alright with them not wasting our time with every charlatan who turns up.

What's the rules on loans this year? I presume there's a maximum in the squad at one time and a total maximum over the season as well?

The maximum is five at any time with no more than three from the same club (or one from a club in the same division) but it only applies to loans from other Scottish clubs with no limit on international transfers, so McEntee and Allan don't count towards the total. Presuming Brandon signs we could still have another three in addition to him and Reilly.

Happy with that. There are going to be question marks about his fitness with how long it's been since he had a regular uninterrupted run of first team football, but hopefully playing every week allows him to show he's still capable of being the same player he was before the injuries. If that's the case he should be a solid addition.

Signing Brandon makes straightforward sense; assuming we keep McEntee, we now have something like a balanced complement of players for the defensive positions.

Expect to see a central midfielder or a wide forward next (both would be ideal).

Variables are a. what does Imrie do about a second keeper? And b. where is Tom Allan?

Aye…if Allan is quietly shipped off to Newcastle I wouldn’t mind. Perhaps he’ll get a chance for them in the Championship next season after the rest of the squad mysteriously disappear in an embassy.

Pretty rotten luck for the club that the most recent of these offences is in 2019 but it comes up within a month of him being appointed here and he's probably going to get a hefty touchline ban as a result.

All the charges relate to betting on football in general as opposed to the much more serious charge of betting on games he had any influence over so wouldn't expect anything more severe than a fine and suspension.

There's loads of people been pulled up today.  looks like a bookie has handed over some info.

That's Allan away back to Newcastle. While he could feel a bit hard done to in some respects with MacPherson playing him in six different positions in his first seven games - what chance did that give him of any kind of consistency - let's be honest, he was mince. We can put that wage towards an upgrade now.

Imrie has delivered seven points and eight goals in his first three games.

It took MacPherson 10 games and 12 games respectively to hit those totals this season.

No manager could possibly be expected to do better with the players we have, though.
