TheGoon
Either Egert or Fosu-Mensah have to be coming in today as well, this is just getting weird.
Dunning1874
Obviously we don't know what system Hopkin is planning on, but if we even very charitably say he's managed to figure out a system which allows us to get an attacking midfielder, two wingers and two centre forwards in at once without being stupidly imbalanced then we'd have the following options for those five places in the team: Nesbitt, McGuffie, McPake, Omar, Lyon, Colville, Wallace, Oliver, Salkeld, Muirhead, Orsi, MacIver Compared with those 12 (twelve) attacking options and another four central midfielders, we have the following defenders: Strapp, McGinty, McLean If this season does go tits up at any point there is absolutely no way the budget can be used as an excuse. If we end up short in defence it's because Hopkin has chosen to stockpile attackers rather than not having the resources to strengthen the defence.
madton
We now have 16 midfielders/forwards fighting out for effectively 6 positions. There is going to be a lot of unhappy players on match day. Meanwhile we have 3 defenders, 1 of which is 35 and past his best. Absolute madness recruitment from Hopkin when just a week or two ago he said how tight the budget was and asking fans for more money. Quite why he gave so many of our deadwood new deals and continues to recruit wingers and attack minded players is anyone's guess. We have 4 defensive midfielders, we have 5 wingers, has Hopkin lost it? How is he going to make this work?

The Ghost of B A R P
No Idea who Michael Ledger is, but no doubt QoS fans will be along soon to tell us he's shite... Beyond that, there must be contract cancellations/moves to come; there's no way he can sustain a squad that shape... and absolutely no way he can justify some of the cost, this season of all seasons. The Wallace signing is just taking the pish.

The Ghost of B A R P
This season could be anything... I'm still naively hoping for another goalkeeper and an actual right-back... but I'm clearly just not on the same wavelength as Davie Zen Master Hopkin... Training will be like Battle Royale for the forwards and midfielders...
Dunning1874
Well, it's two defenders finally. We're still too short to be playing a back four as it is, but I also don't have a clue who out of this squad would be a right wing back and we surely don't have the budget left to sign any more defenders. Fjortoft and Ledger both need to be successful or we're in big trouble, we simply can't afford defensive signings going wrong.
vikingTON
McPake - certainly worth a shot, we didn't do too badly from the last winger that a fellow Championship club thought was shite. But the attitude could be an issue if things go badly (see McKay, B.) Fjortoft - 6 foot 4 centre half and isn't 100 like McLean, hopefully we'll get a proper hammer-thrower instead of a donkey. Sherrif John Bunnell
Wallace is a very good footballer, but he is absolutely tiny. I hope he does better for you than Reagan Tumilty and Dylan Dykes.

AsimButtHitsASix
I got a horrible feeling he's decided Chris Millar is a right back or something equally ridiculous.

In a 4-4-2 with a solid midfield 4 in front of him that wouldn't be a bad idea as a one off but we can't go into the season with Jacobs or Millard as our first choice rb.

He is on record as saying Millar will have limited game time now. He is likely looking at Jacobs and Ledger just now for RB in a 4, Salkeld if we are playing a back 3, and maybe still looking to replace Duffy.

The Ghost of B A R P
I'd put money on us lining up Ledger-Fjortoft-McGinty-Strapp across the back if there are no further signings. Strapp with license to push on, the other three shuffling across. Whether that's good enough remains to be seen. An actual right-back would be very welcome, but more than that, we need a first-choice keeper.
