Us, you, QotS, Queen's Park and Partick in League Cup Group G. Decent draw all round, I reckon.

A match sharp Midden should walk the group. It's anything but decent all round.

Anyway, Domestic Cup forum for this pish.

For a second seed like ourselves the success point in this cup involves getting into the last 16: which means getting at least 8 points and a good GD in 2nd place or winning the group. The first route almost certainly won't be happening for any team in this group unlike the absolute joke efforts that Ross County etc. ended up with. So the only chance of progression will come from topping the group, which of course will be a skoosh given that the top seeds will have been playing at a higher competitive for two months before we even get started. Throw in the lack of even decent gate receipts to compensate for the low chance of progression and it's pretty much the worst possible outcome from our perspective.

The word 'should' doing a lot of heavy lifting there. You're correct, but we've been fucking horrible in this competition recently.

However, I do take your and @virginton's points about the match sharpness and yes, that's definitely shite and unfair.

How's your fan ownership project going?

Fairly well.; I'd say we're close to two-thirds of the way there. Or eight fingers out of twelve, as the more cerebrally challenged would say. 😊

As the man said, why? Seems to me to be a perfectly reasonable response to someone talking shite.

Exactly. If that idiot Levein is going to make up stuff on national radio then the clubs named should absolutely be setting the record straight.

Putting it on record that it wasn't true is one thing; complaining to the BBC is Victim FC stuff that should be left to Celtic and Rangers.

Not to mention the fact that it was McKinnon talking absolute mince in the first place about the whole situation that probably led to Levein thinking or being told what he claimed. They're both gobshites.

PS the kit launch and accompanying statement today is yet another riddy.

Someone literally went on national radio, and lied about something pretty serious the club had done - being held to zero account when doing so. The club were right to comment on it, regardless of the CEO’s comments.

Prefer Raith's approach personally. If Scottish football clubs complained to the BBC after every inaccuracy on air, we wouldn't have much time left to actually play football.

That's a cracking interview, the Livingston to Parma stuff

Joe McKee describing himself as a player who "wanted the ball all the time" in reference to his time at Morton though...

Given the BBC has now apologised on air to us and Raith after admitting they got it wrong, I’d say it was more than worthwhile defending ourselves.
