The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

Recommended Posts

I love that the hatred of McKinnon has brought out such idiotic revisionist history. McKinnon had one less win in about a seventh of the league games that JJ has had. He didn't bring duds. Those players have been mismanaged by a fucking idiot of a manager who has no idea what he's doing.

It's another in a long list of dire appointments by a board who mostly specialise in it.

Your entire argument has been to tell people to just sit down and shut up. You're on a discussion forum. If you can't handle it, then f**k off.

..   or in other words, sit down and shut up, eh?

Just stating an opinion about opinions previously stated, bud.

If you can't handle that, take your own advice.

We took 7 points from our first three games under Jim McInally in this league. The first results of a season have not been indicative of the kind of team we have built or the kind of season that we're going to have (2 points from 3 games in 12/13, 3 points from 5 games in 16/17, we didn't win until mid October in 08/09, and 11 points from 5 games in 11/12 as well as the 7 from 3 in 07/08).

That was a typical promotion bounce FFS. The fact that you are still banging about that as a meaningful comparison with this campaign is embarrassing for you.

Morton fans know what they are seeing - even those who are pleading for more time right now - and that is a side that has become objectively worse and far less than the sum of its parts since that clown took over.

I’m far from being a moron, I possess an ample sufficiency of gorm thank you very much and I’ve never been known to happyclap. I’ve told you before that your insults are like water off a duck’s back to me, it would take a much better man than you’ll ever grow up to be to get under my skin and with your juvenile pish you’re just wasting your time and, more importantly, mine.
As far as JJ is concerned I’ve been for from impressed by much of the football I’ve seen under him and remain to be convinced that he will prove to be even a competent manager.
However, you are yet again either missing or avoiding my point, which is this: whether you like it or not, and you quite obviously don’t, the man is here to stay - for the short to medium term at least - and there is nothing anyone outside of the boardroom can do about that. You’ve voiced your displeasure long and loud and often about his performance as manager to date, as have a few others. We get it. We got it the first time and we continue to get it on a daily basis. There is no fucking need for you to go on and on about him day after fucking day, we know where you stand on his stewardship and the constant negnegnegging from you and the other hysterical knickerwetters will achieve nothing other than boring the rest of us crapless. Criticise him and his team selections or tactics after games if you feel he deserves it, but in between times give it a fucking rest for a while.

I’ll post on a football forum about a dunce manager when and as often as I want to; knowing that it annoys a moron like you so much is an added incentive.

I think we should be at least 5 points better off than we are, and I think it's very possible that we would have been around about that mark under McKinnon. That doesn't mean that I think we recruited well in defence or attack this summer, nor do I think that 7 points from the first 3 games was a particularly fair reflection of those games (and while teams can get off with that in the short term, they nearly never do in the long term - and teams very often do get away with it early on in seasons before being exposed).

Nobody has been pointing to the first three games of the season as if it was the guide to how the rest of the campaign would have panned out though. They've simply stated that since then i) we've struggled to win league games on any sort of regular basis and ii) the team has become worse in just about every department (apart from finally binning Scully in goal). Those changes have not been caused by our recruitment in the summer or the loss of a tactical genius in the form of King Snake - they're the outcome of a manager who is having no impact on the training ground and looks clueless on match day as well.

Such a little ray of sunshine, aintcha?

Sorry to burst your wee bubble, but you only rarely manage to annoy me. Generally I just shake my head, grin and feel just a wee bit sorry for you when I read your stuff.

If it helps, though, quite often your tedious wee tropes, pompous patter and inane gifs threaten to bore the very nipples off me.

Now, do carry on.

Telling people that they should shut up isn't an opinion. You're a happy clapping fuckwit and a total weirdo to boot.

I can't be fucked with bothering with you anymore tbh. Feel free to talk to a wall. Would get you more success.

^^^^ raging at being caught out doing exactly wot he accused ME of doing.

Somewhat pleasing.

Worth noting that I don't see McKinnon as some sort of unreal loss that would have made us title contenders. Just that I'd rather have had him there than JJ.

I was pissed off at the time as, it seemed, he had recruited well and had sorted out the early season issues but, as time's went on, I think his recruitment was a shambles in retrospect. Maybe he did have a few of the issues sussed out and would have us in the play offs as it stands but I'm not really sure of that. Probably would prefer him to JJ but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for this season as long as he doesn't drag us into the relegation fight.

Wouldn't label him as crap..   Millar has been our best midfielder in the last few games. Even Tidser has been a bit off the boil for me..

He contributes nothing.  A ghost.   I never rated him the first time around either but I expected him to return a much improved player.   How wrong I was.

I assume you mean Tidser.  He's a decent player but in recent weeks he seems to have faded away - rarely gets near the opposition goal now, but that's probably due to the team formation being a shambles.  I reckon he would be a lot better with someone like Andy Murdoch in there somewhere to provide the pace and energy.  We have no pace at all in midifled, possibly excepting Iredale when he's played on the left - he can shit a bit.

Laxatives have the same effect on me.
