The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

Recommended Posts

There is nothing behind the club's decision whatsoever. Evidence fully points to a drop of attendances in the weeks leading up to Christmas - shifting a game to TV on the last Friday before Christmas, as everyone not loaning brain cells like yourself already knew, simply enhanced this trend and says nothing at all about the 'fickleness' of the fanbase whatsoever. In contrast, there is not a jot of evidence to show that attendances are impacted by playing on Boxing Day - rather, the opposite is the case. Which is why playing on Boxing Day continues to be the norm across the British Isles, because competent clubs don't look such an obvious gift horse in the mouth.

Swing and a miss.

If the players want a break abroad in winter then they should find another profession. 41 of Scotland's 42 clubs will be staying at home, 40 of which will be playing as is customary within days of Christmas, arranged for TV. So no, I think you'll find that 'players' jollies' are, correctly, held at the bottom of the pile of interests at any competently run football club when arranging fixtures. And in addition, the idea that the players were even consulted on this decision is a claim without any basis in fact.

Safe to say that I really couldn't care less about posting critiques from a time-honoured Walter Mitty, whose only, brief slitherings from under his rock on the Morton forum now lead to instant humiliation.

Thanks for playing anyway champ.

You seem to be conflating the alleged issues. QOS was an away fixture the attendance at which is of no financial benefit to Morton. Last Friday nights attendance is suggestive that contrary to your belief only a few of the die hards on here were inconvenienced by the switch.

Didn't realise that as well as O level in English and Slovakian culture you were also a graduate of tha Maggie Thatcher School of Management. Hope Santa brings you a life for Christmas and that spending Boxing Day with all of your friends is not too paiful for your keyboard finger.

Right, to try and get away from this shower of absolute fucking drivel, is there any news on possible January signings? Duffy definitely seems to be game for some market activity and we do tend to make a biggie or two in this window.

I'm hoping for something in defence and a winger or CM.

Saw an article saying Falkirk are looking to get Dec Mcmanus on loan, surely if hes avaliable the Duff should get in there

Friday night's attendance is utterly irrelevant to the discussion, you utter simpleton.

Life lectures from a tragic, multi-alias mouth-breather like yourself are instantly dismissed. Thanks for playing anyway.

Depends on the injury position re Tidser, McKeown and Peaso. There is a January breakout clause in Denny's loan deal and Birmingham are struggling for goals. I would imagine that whether Samuel stays is down to us and given his performance at the Carol concert he will be on Dougie's list. Would be daft not to extend Luca's loan deal but equally daft of Servco to agree to it given their current defensive frailties.

We certainly need more in midfield and some one who can covert chances. We need to look like a team who can score 3 goals or more in a game , not just 1 and maybe two if luck is with us. Realistically the wallet needs to come out to make the right people available
