Gordon EF
Obviously didn't agree with Charlie on some pretty important issues but i always felt he was a guy with intelligence and integrity. I'm happy to have 'opposition' like that any day of the week. Saw him on Newsnight recently and he was in a bit of a state which was sad to see. I've no doubt that more than one person will have taken him aside and tried to tell him his health was more important than elections. Maybe in a way it's a measure of the man that he obviously didn't agree.
Pete's Frontier
Sad to hear about his passing this morning. My politics are on the right these days, but I respected Kennedy as a serious political figure and he'll be missed from public life. rip.
H_B
Really horrendous news.. I met Charles Kennedy on only one occasion but thought highly of him ever since that. Principled.. Warm.. Human.. Genuinely funny .. For once a genuine airing of these sentiments following his death not just a 'better not talk I'll of the dead ' whitewashing of history. Thought Nicola Sturgeon spoke really well about it today also.. Very stateswomanlike. Only thing that leaves a sour taste in the mouth is the utter scum like Stuart Campbell attempting to make political capital out of the event with a Twitter gutter rake. There really are no depths that absolutely vile individual and his cesspit of a site won't sink to.
D.A.F.C
One of the few politicians I have genuine respect for. Really respected him after his stance against the Iraq war. Quite saddened by this today, genuinely.
Baxter Parp
Lovely to see Stuart Campbell taking a wee bit of flak on here at last. He's possibly one of the most odious creatures imaginable outside of a prison for sexual offenders, and only started his Wings Over Scotland site as an attempt to get his name back into the spotlight. Don't be fooled because his views seem to correspond with yours; the only thing he believes in is the glory of Stuart Campbell. Anyway, sorry, back to Charles Kennedy. Gullibility is your forte, I see.

BFTD
Gullibility is your forte, I see. How so? My opinion of Campbell is based on about two decades of observing his work from afar. His recent rebirth as arch political commentator has nowt to do with that, although the recent complaints of bullying and personal abuse are of no surprise, considering his track record; it's just what he's always done. Aye but.. Look at thaim. Why not judge Campbell by your own standards? Do you or do you not agree with his vile attempts to go on a trawl through the dregs of Twitter to find something to make a political point scoring exercise out of the death of a decent and troubled man? Much as I hate to be seen backing up H_B, that's a good thing. Wings Over Scotland is quoted often on here as gospel, rather than the vanity project of a man with interest only in himself; independence be damned. Knowing who's behind pro-independence stories is as important as knowing who's behind the unionist stuff.

Isn't that exactly what almost the entire MSM and high profile "Better Together" supporters based their entire campaign on. There was hardly a day that went by without an article about "vile cybernats" appearing somewhere. ANd if I remember correctly, you jumped on them with absolute glee.
