Predictions for The Rangers 2015-2016

Recommended Posts

Will continue to trade while insolvent and will be on life support again before Christmas. As far as football goes, very unlikely they beat my club without the mythical warchest and that ain't happening is it.

You calling Dave King a Liar?

It seems certain that the main theme will be finance, as it has been for that last 3 years.

Looking at the history of the club over all 3 seasons, and anticipating next season, the point at which they had or will have no money left is something like the following. I am assuming that the main ST sales period runs to the end of July in all cases.

  • 2012-2013 - money did not run out, substantial funds raised through share offering
  • 2013-2014 - money ran out around 7 months after ST period
  • 2014-2015 - money appeared likely to run out around 3 months after ST period, then again a couple of months later following a successful rights issue, then 3 more times as loans were made and used.
  • 2015-2016 - money from ST sales will already have been either spent or will be less than existing liabilities (including loans).
There is some talk of some of the loans being converted into equity, and if you're optimistic and can ignore the history of one of the main players, you can choose to believe that.

So, in short, manager, coach, director of football, player, even league reconstruction are all rather inconsequential: a club that has been on life-support to get it through to the big seasonal income point can only hope not to be in too severe debt following the taking of that income.

Hibs should win, presuming that Stubbs is chucked out of the airlock the night before the AGM as usual if their current shitty shorts continue to be shit-stained.

The major thing to worry about is what happens if Kilmarnock Rangers finish 11th.
