He is a decent finisher

Is he?

Remember he was getting rave reviews when he broke through but I've never been convinced. Always looked like he was playing in the age group above what he shouldve been. Admittedly be had bulked up a bit last season but by then his main attributes seemed to be running around a lot a putting a tackle in.

Probably best for all concerned that he left, seems like a decent lad but not sure he's got a future as a professional.

Score wasn't really important, just a chance to look at the trialists and build up the fitness of the other players.

Real stuff starts on Saturday. Hopefully a couple of signings before then (even if it is just Howieson and Conlan).

Maybe a bit late now but - the teamline from the game today...

Howieson is really good, but went off in the first half, not sure how serious (although Gilchrist for Burnley was away to Hospital with an ankle injury in a seperate incident). St Mirren played well in parts. Moore good target upfront but a bit isolated.

Howieson and Conlan are in talks to sign, all the other trialists are being assessed this week.

Rooney only being offered under 20 terms. He has offers elsewhere, apparently.

That seems like a strange offer when there's other teams after him. This could well come back and bite us later, as well as now if we don't sign a decent defender.

Murray must feel he's not ready for rigours of first team football at this level.

It's refreshing us being so thorough about who were signing.

Definitely, I'd much rather have a fussy manager putting together his first squad than have a repeat of Danny Lennon's first season when we had about 200 players, most of whom were pish.
