Was on his own and when asked if he was signing for Rangers have an unambiguous answer, wait and see or something like that. Would there be any other reason for him leaving the training camp early? He's got enough ability to play as a #10 at Championship level (he played more offensively during his first spell at County, with Tidser sitting deeper) but he'd stroll this level playing in his more natural holding role.
