Dave1875
Least he's continuing his playing career, can you imagine how hard MNF would be with BOTH him and Jamie Carragher? Subtitles would definitely be needed. Dunno what it is about the scouser accent, but I just can't take anyone who speaks with it seriously

Pete's Frontier
OP is a tit, Stevie G is Liverpool's greatest player since the golden 70's and 80's eras and one of the best in Europe for a number of years. Respect him for staying at Liverpool also , could have won more and made more money but showed loyalty.

Co.Down Hibee
Are you debating that he wouldn't have made more money by moving? Probably would have done but the loyalty thing was highlighted by the OP, yes he stayed with them but had huge contracts at Liverpool which helped to keep him, it was also a fairly safe option for him to stay at Liverpool, move to Chelsea may have thrown up the Lampard/Gerrard issue which England had, Real Madrid was a risk on a cultural level and reallistically they were the only moves on the table. Raidernation
I would argue that John Grieg, Billy McNeill, Willie Miller were FAR more deserving And probably better club "servants"

Gerrard made 100k at Liverpool and Lampard 200-250k at Chesski, although SG could have moved there if he'd wanted. Respect the man for showing some loyalty, Unlike that little shit Sterling who is going to walk for the biggest check.

Why would you waste a talented career at a team who are going nowhere fast and who won't financially compensate you to the levels better clubs interested in your services would?
