18/19 at best competition to be complete 2 months into the following season, fixture currently clashes with first team match, let’s see when this actually happens.

17/18 - dafc vs Burntisland, match abandoned, never replayed- Burntisland given progress

16-17 east fife withdrew.

15-16 only 1 game played

14-15 not played

13-14 semi-finals not played

12-13 completion abandoned

11-12 Competition completed in full!
10-11 no competition
09-10 abandoned at semi-final stage
08-09 abandoned competition
07-08 competition completed.
06-07. Competition completed
05-06 competition completed
04-05 competition completed

So I’ve slightly overestimated how far back we have to go to find the competition being played in full on a regular basis. But 1 in 11 doesn’t exactly look good either.

Most of the years the competition wasn't completed the issues were with your club under its previous ownership.  Raith Rovers to a lesser degree.  In 2016 the clubs met and had a critical review of the way forward.  One choice was to abandon the competition with all its history - no club really wished that to be the outcome (the late Margaret Ross represented Dunfermline).  Thus continuation was agreed and each club rep took responsibility for their club in terms of advancing the competition.  The idea was to complete the competition and thus they dealt with the team manager re getting a fixture scheduled and if any problems arose.  It was also agreed that if a team ultimately had an ongoing difficulty in fulfilling a fixture then what would happen was what used to happen many years ago.  If any team is in that situation they simply scratch allowing their opponents to advance with the ultimate aim of the final being played.  Thus an attempt has been made to preserve a bit of Scottish football history - the oldest county competition still being played.  With 3 new teams joining there is interest in the tournament and I don't think when Burntisland Shipyard won for the first time they did not see it as a major achievement.  Crowds are certainly more than you get for a Development match.  The final going into the next season is hardly a new thing - that has happened many times during the competition's history.

Easy Fife vs stirling that night. Either east fife move the 1st team game to the Wednesday(don’t know east Fife’s preference for midweek home games but typically these fall on the home sides preference without unusual circumstances), could play this game on the alternative night providing east fife can cope(we have done reserve games and first team matches back to back pre-season, tho usually resulting in a very week reserve squad)

Pars not involved in teacake cup until the next round.

Unlikely they will shift the Tunnocks Cup-Tie, and if the Fife Cup date can’t be shifted it’ll be the Reserves Team/Under 20’s that’ll be playing, even if it is shifted to the following day it’ll still be that side and I would imagine any unused 1st-teamers who didn’t play the previous night who’ll be getting medals!!!

Take it going back to doing this over a weekend, for both Semi finals on a Saturday and Final on the Sunday, isn't possible any more? Those were really good weekends.

It will never haopen now with the Betfred Cup also now got 8 sides in the cup. I agree they were good weekends back in the day.

Just googled this place to see where it is. Up behind the Jubilee Tavern! I wondered where there park was having never seen it while passing through Burntisland.

How much is it to get in?

You can only access the ground via Kerr Court.
