He's scored 38 league goals in 68 appearances for Brechin since leaving us. Not sure why anyone would be disappointed with us signing a player with a goal record like that. I wasn't his biggest fan when he was at Ayr but I don't think Brian Reid used him to the best of his abilities and he did have injury troubles if I remember rightly.

Always good to weaken a rival, too.

Reid used him as a hod carrier which he isn't and it is also what we need now.....

Although with McGovern away its free'd up a space, I wouldn't like to think we would have looked at Trouten if we had kept McGovern as we would have three very similar players, or offered McGovern and Gilmour deals knowing there was a chance Trouten might join.

We were always a better team with Trouten playing in front of Tiffony rather than McGowan, Trouten would stick to wide right and track back where McGowan would drift off into the center forward position leaving anyone on the left wing a free run at Tiff, normally resulting in a goal or a red card.
