Can't be Trouten; season isn't finished.

Can't be McCulloch; season isn't finished.

Can't be Gormley; season isn't finished.

Can't be Thompson; season isn't finished.

I'll guess it's someone from the Shire.

It'll be Grant Adam. Provided he isn't in the gaol.

If it is then it probably means that Martin will be away, can't see Adam coming here just to sit on the bench.

I think its a gesture of respect to the clubs involved, players are often snapped up early but not announced due to conflicts of interest. Its not exactly Lewandowski or Gerrard proportions of wages or public interest in watching if those leaving bother their arse or not, especially if they play against the team they're moving to and 'assist' in any way.

What's he like as a player, Sonsteam?

Decent. He's been a regular starter in our team since he signed a few years back. I'm surprised a League 1 team hasn't snapped him up. Dreadfully slow and his positioning can be a bit suspect at times but other than that a solid enough defender. He can play left-mid or centre mid as well. Can deliver a good ball into the area and his dead ball delivery is pretty good too.

Oh aye, he can throw a ball from one side of the pitch to the other. His long throws are absolutely tremendous, identical to Rory Delap in length. That'll stand out immediately - better furnish all the Broadwood ballboys with towels though, great for winding up opposition fans in the dying minutes when he takes a full minute to take a throw

On paper, that's two players of calibre and experience we struggled to find even when we were the First Division club (Ricky Waddell, Dusan Bestvina, Andy Ferguson anyone??) and a sign of the commitment to delivering success on the park. Under the last clown, the perpetual 'we're almost there, the players want to come but its the money' eg Longworth, Malcolm etc, it was never the manager moaning about it far less doing something about it (see Morton's struggle to win Seaside League 1 with fifth highest budget outside Prem) which is another welcome change. The vibes im getting are it will be a very trim squad, 18 seniors at most.....be that four or five wages saved are buying quality, or investment is secured externally, the message is being put out nice and early. Welcome to a big club, Archie and Scott!!
