Why is it allowed if there is no such party?

There is also no such party as "Alex Salmond for First Minister"

My favourite anecdote when it comes to party names on the ballot sheet was in the 2005 general election. Now in that election the speaker was standing for re-election in Glasgow NE, and by convention he stands just as "Speaker" on the ballot paper and none of the 3 major parties oppose him. He won the election with 15,000 votes but the "Socialist Labour Party" got 4,000 votes, mostly from local numpties

Scottish Labour won't be on the ballot paper will it?

It will, because they are allowed to as an accounting unit

A candidate cannot stand for an accounting unit during an election; only for a registered party. An accounting unit, Scottish Labour Party for example, may appear as a description of the registered party on the ballot paper. The Electoral Commission does not regulate the content of campaign material. A party may present themselves under an accounting unit if they choose.
