spud131
I'm massively enjoying this game so far. Found it abit tough when you first start off in velen but once you go up a couple of levels and upgrade armour etc it's fantastic. Im upto level 13 so far and finished all the main velen quests however still got over 60 '?' to uncover and a few side quests and contracts to do, just don't have enough hours in the day tho!!
djchapsticks
Level 14 now and hitting my stride. I thought I was ready to move on to Skellige...nowhere fucking near it! Every time I complete a quest in Novigraad, about 3 fresh ones open up. I love this game, it's phenomenal and I feel I'm not even a quarter of the way through.
WullieBroonIsGod
I'm only level 8 and and still roaming around Velen. Decided I really should use my alchemy more and have oils for swords etc. Finding myself switching from quest to quest and really loving it. Finally found a game I'm not wishing was TLOU. Can see me losing 100hours plus into this.
Fide
Think I'm Level 8 as well. I've decided to savour this game. I was stoating about Velen doing side quests but I decided to go back to White Orchard and hoover up everything there before moving on. I've discovered a view places of power and hidden/ guarded treasure. This game is a thing of beauty.
Richey Edwards
I got The Witcher 2 yesterday and am enjoying it very much so far. I'm in Flotsam and just killed the Karyan.
WullieBroonIsGod
Official Playstation Magazine have reviewed this and gave it an 8. Must say I think they are being way too harsh.
djchapsticks
Official Playstation Magazine have reviewed this and gave it an 8. Must say I think they are being way too harsh. Fucking hell. It's a 10 if there ever was. A few minor bug issues with folk walking through solid objects but in a game quite so vast and varied, that's acceptable and nothing is game breaking. The strength and variety of characters, the brilliant voice acting (except that fucking c**t Dandelion) and complete variety and freshness of quests means it's absorbing. The only semi repetitive part is the horse racing challenges. Even Gwent is fucking great! It's been my favourite original game of the current generation consoles.
WFAANW
I especially like how you can negotiate your reward for carrying out contracts.
Anonapersona
I finished the game on Death March a few days ago. Very tough at the beginning where dodging and timed strikes are your best friend. It gets a lot easier after you level up some, especially if you grab Witcher gear whenever possible.

The only quest Iine I've disliked is that bawsack Dandilion, but I think it's the character I just can't warm to. (Maybe it's an American accent in amongst Northern European style accents, found Triss's weird too). I've not gotten involved in the races or Gwent, but I can see me going back and playing. The side quests are so well written you don't even realise it's a fetch quest as the characters and story are well written. Some of the side quests that are a result of Witcher contracts are superb. His main gripe was that the game directs you as to what quests to do (in terms of their level). According to the reviewer it means the game isn't truly open world. I personally have no issue with this, there's always plenty to pick from, or you can go explore the ? on the map. He had a swipe at some of the glitches too and also at the long loading time after a death (a justified irk - his only one IMO) I would also say this is a 10 all day long. Fantastic storytelling with great gameplay and scope for adventure in between. I'm 99 hours in and only level 20. Would imagine I have another 99 to go and am in no way tired of the game. Outstanding value for money. How OPM can score this game the same as it did "The Evil Within" is fucking ludicrous. The first genuine class game of the next gen that isn't a remastered edition of a last gen gem.
Ramagamma
Official Playstation Magazine have reviewed this and gave it an 8. Must say I think they are being way too harsh. It's either been given to a reviewer who normally specialises in Fifa and Madden NFL or it's a deliberately controversial review because this is absolutely Game of the Year.
Fide
Can anyone give me a quick brief on how to play Gwent? My mate says it's an incredible part of the game. I've tried it a couple of times and can't quite get into it.

Just play it a few times and learn what cards do from experience. It's really good once you get in to it
Oddy
I'm about 5 hours in after buying a lad from work's copy this week (£30. It's still £43 second hand in CEX). I think I'll be kissing my weekend goodbye. Especially as I'm a bit of a treasure/Secrets Hunter on RPGs at the best of times. Found the Griffin a Piece of. But I had spent most my time beforehand doing all the White Orchard side quests and ? areas. I find the recommended levels for each quest a bit much. Level 1 for the Noon wRaith Rover when It recommended Min level 3. Took three/four attacks and it was done. Itching to get home and play now. Roll on 5:30!

I'm on the one below death March and I can assure you they aren't a bit much I see it now. I'm on the medium setting I think and it's just shot up a level or two now I've moved out of White orchard. Died a fair few times. Thinking I could just go in and smash and grab.
Mr Hahn
Made a rule with myself that I shouldn't start a single player game until I've finished the one I've been playing because I had so many unfinished games on my steam account but really desperate to break that rule for this game. The Witcher 2 was one of my top 3 games of all time and I'm dying to get into this one. Is anyone playing on PC and have an indication on how it runs? I remember the Witcher 2 being quite a demanding game.
