sunlightstar
Well done to Peebles and Manager John O'Hara After victory over Hawick last night and with a cup game this weekend, Peebles Rovers are now going to be a full calender year unbeaten in the League. Played 21 Won 17 Drew 4 (Last Defeat 29/3/14 - Easthouses 3-0 Peebles) On top of that the last home defeat was the 16th November 2013, a 2-1 Defeat to Hibernian EOS. Is there any records of unbeaten teams previously ? I know people may come in and slate the standard or opposition and the league this year but in any league a year unbeaten is some fete and they can only play what's infront of them. Well done Lads #Statto
HibeeJibee
It will be hard to know if or when a record of "unbeaten for X months" is broken as so few records of the EOS League exist until recent times... Berwick Rangers went unbeaten for the whole season in 1927-28 (also an 8-team division but only playing 14 games not 28) whilst Penicuik Athletic won every game in 1937-38 (which totalled 23 games since Jedburgh Artisans resigned mid-season but their record wasn't expunged!!). Eyemouth went 1955-56 unbeaten, totalling 23 games as 1 wasn't completed. Hawick Royal Albert went all 17 games unbeaten in 1966-67 comprising 11 in the Border section and 6 in the Top 8. Whitehill Welfare went all 28 games unbeaten in 1984-85. Gala went all 18 unbeaten in 1994-95 and finished 2nd!! Only club to go an EOS First Divison season unbeaten post reconstruction was Easthouses Lily in 1990-91 but they only had to play 18 games versus the current 28 games. Only a handful of teams in UK football are still unbeaten, this season... Peebles, Brora Rangers in Highland League, Phoenix Sports a London team in English 9th tier, TNS from the Welsh Premier, and Gresford Athletic in the Welsh 4th tier. There may be others in the lower English reaches/amateurs.

Mr Tee
That's an amazing record by anyone's standards. Well done to them.
R0b83
Almost as good as South Gyle AFC's home record - unbeaten in over 2 and a bit years!!!
Macca1875
John has done a tremendous job at Peebles & it's by no way of a coincidence. He has worked his bollocks off & attracted a good calibre of player which have bought into his vision for the club. He has a fantastic committee down there which help him immensely. Things certainly look good for the long term future at Peebles. We welcome them to Saughton on Saturday & know it's going to be a real tough test regardless of league status. They might have managed it. TTB, how did they end the league campaign last year?

newboy
LTHV are struggling and trying to play on that pitch as today showed does not help saying that the dissallowed goal was incorrrect and hitting the bar from 2 yards ,soft sending off , falling over taking a penalty ,,,what a nightmare of a performance sadly unless they get their first 11 on the pitch which is rare then the season will be over this week

Duns Fan
With Peebles winning again yesterday how many games have they got left before they can win the league?
sunlightstar
5/6 games to win from 10 should be enough! I think they need 19 points from current standing and on the basis ormiston don't drop more points. Hibeejibee best man for this.
HibeeJibee
They are likeliest to win the league now, but it'd be some time until they reached that point. Remember the First Division plays 28 games. Peebles are on 48pts. Ormiston can get 66pts. So it would still need another 19pts from Peebles to capture it, i.e. 5 wins & 1 draw from their remaining 10 games. However, that total would reduce each time Ormiston dropped points, or Peebles took points in head-to-heads v Ormiston which come at the end of April. Duns can get 64pts, and Heriot-Watt can get 63pts, so a touch further behind. Certainly the race for the second promotion place is very intense. The challenge for second place will certainly go to the wire big style. We still to play Ormiston twice, peebles twice (a think) and HW once more.
