Attained the number 1 pick which was the ultimate aim and managed to blood quite a few of the younger players who will be part of the team for the forthcoming years (ie. Franco, Herrerra, Hernandez, Giles, Nola, etc). Perhaps more importantly, managed to get pretty good returns for our aging veterans and got shot of our utterly useless GM so I expect we'll be back at the top sooner rather than later as a result. Congratulations to the Royals. didn't watch the game last night, but on watching the highlights it looked like Duda should be the villain rather than Collins. Hosmer would have been out by a mile with even an average throw home. Hideous play with the World Series on the line... Harvey look gassed before the 9th started? As a disgruntled Cubs fan, I can't help but feel a little annoyed that the Mets played so beautifully all 4 games against the Cubs in the NLCS, and then don't do themselves justice in the World Series. Duda's hapless at first and in the outfield. He's awful. But yes, a competent throw gets him. That said, when a manager goes to take a pitcher out, he takes him out. A better manager does what's good for the team and deals with Harvey's ego later.
