The Great Big Kilmarnock Thread

A closed door game against Linfield added to the game against Larne when we head to our training camp in NI next week.

With both of them playing in Europe the following week it should be a good test for our new squad....

How was Broadfoot for u guys last year? Training with QoS atm apparently

An utter bell end!

He was decent at the start of the season and had some great games for us throughout his time with Killie but the guy is poison.

Absolutely awful. Watch the two play off games and that’s what you can expect.

Guy is beyond past it.

You know what Dobbie did for Queens the last few years?

Imagine the exact opposite of that.

Awful tbh.... spends half his time auditioning for the WWE with opponents in his own box and the other half finger pointing at his collegues to cover up his own glaring mistakes.

If you sign him upon your own head be it.....

For me, he seemed to go through periods of either being our best centre half and being absolutely awful. As mentioned previously, you only need to watch the two matches against Dundee as evidence of him at his worst.

I always imagined him jumping down a few divisions and joining a side like Kelty or Clyde (no idea why). So I am maybe a bit surprised, in that sense, for him to be training with another Championship side. If you use him to his strengths: allow him to have a physical battle with the oppositions striker, enable him to boot and head the ball clear and have a quicker defender beside him. He could be a good signing.

There was also times when he appeared to be a great leader and experienced player on the pitch, teaching and guiding his younger defenders throughout the match. However, he might throw those players under the bus for goals conceded, regardless of it being his fault or not (see one of Motherwell's goals against us towards the end of the season).

Your giving him too much respect there. He’s crap. He’s lost the ability to defend without hanging on and fouling opponents. At corner kicks he even fouls his own players and blames everyone but himself. He’s a penalty or a sending off away in every match, you fear him being in one against one situations. I’m glad he’s away from RP.

I'd be amazed and delighted if we're playing against him in the league this season. You'd think with his experience he'd be able to make up for his lack of pace by having good positioning, but he gets caught under ever single long ball.

Even though I’m glad Broadfoot and others are now away from the club after the nightmare of last season I do find it quite hard to really be too harsh on these players due to their role in those couple of great seasons we had under Clarke. Even allowing for the whole Broadfoot/Alessio/St Mirren affair where KB was clearly well out of order.

What I would say about Broadfoot is that there can be no denying the man loves to play football and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him slipping down the pyramid and playing for another few years yet.

A bit of success from a Killie team for change.... our U17's winning the Cup final against St Johnstone 4-0 yesterday....

The fact that Tommy is speaking about him as your potential number 1 is ominous.
What happened to the boy on loan?
He's the number 1, feels he can get young slapjack back to his early promise. Must be him though as it won't be butterfingers, fat c**t Doyle
