The Great Big Kilmarnock Thread

Hes not going to get a big move based on what hes doing at Kilmarnock

You couldn't have heard his interview with Jim White on Talksport this morning.....

White said he had been talking to people at Chelsea amongst other London clubs about Clarke at the weekend. They are all fully aware of the job he is doing with us & seriously impressed.

Now I'm not for one minute suggesting he would be considered if their manager role became available but an assistant or coaching role might tempt him back nearer his family if he was offered one......

Depends on what you consider a big move.

Fulham is the biggest type he can get, a recently relegated EPL side.

Didn't consider him returning to be an assistant, tbh.

Let's be brutally honest, in financial terms a top Championship team are far more attractive than we are. Looking at our best players, if they got a move to the likes of Derby, Villa or Leeds they would increase their wages by a significant factor & he will be no different as a Manager. SSC has been excellent for us but his family has to come first & if he does go back down south then good luck to him, would be nice if he could leave Lord Dyer up here mind. He is a far better manager than we could have attracted if it was not for his familial ties & it is nonsensical to suggest that he is not highly rated down here after what he has done with us alongside his previous track record.

If you get awarded a pressure penalty to get promoted next year, he's your man to take it.
Ah what a day that was.

Steve Clarke is also nominated alongside Gary Holt, Dick Campbell & Shelly Kerr for the Scottish Football Writers MOTY.

Greg Taylor is up against Jake Hastie, Lewis Ferguson & David Turnbull for their YPOTY........

Not counting any chickens yet, but if we qualify then good to know we'd be seeded in the 1st Qualifying Round. Nothing confirmed for the 2nd Qualifying Round, but going on last year we'd almost certainly be unseeded.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. If you were to win in the second round you'd take the seeding of whoever you beat and potentially get a winnable tie in the 3rd qualifying round.
