The Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to reveal our special crest for our 150th Anniversary. The 150th crest is comprised of key elements from our club's history and modernised to highlight Kilmarnock's honour and tradition as we hold celebrations throughout the remainder of the 2018/19 season and the 2019/20 campaign. Until 1977, the only badge that had ever appeared on our club jersey was the sign of benediction on top of a football. This was Killie's first-ever crest and was drawn on the rear side of the October 1872 Book of Constitution. In 1906, when the club became a Limited Company, a badge was created and elements like the shield in a circular emblem have been incorporated in our 150th crest. This badge has always featured on club share certificates so our fans will recognise this. Unbelievably, we didn't have any crest on our strips until 1977 and at that point, the Kilmarnock town badge became incorporated in our club crest. This remained until The Court of the Lord Lyon intervened in 1991. We haven't incorporated the squirrels into the 150th crest as they belong to the town of Kilmarnock and we wanted this crest to highlight elements that come from the club's origins. You will see our anniversary crest displayed on all event notifications, merchandise and much more throughout this special time for all Killie fans. A huge thanks is due to the team involved including See Saw Creative, club historian John Livingston and Martin Le Roy, who helped provide a fans' perspective.
