Steve Clarke wants to finish the season with a victory to send the Kilmarnock fans home happy for the summer.

Killie end a remarkable campaign against Hearts at Rugby Park, aiming to secure a victory which would see them beat their record points total (57) during the three points for a win era.

Killie's revival has seen the team earn a top six place for the first time since 2010/11 with fifth spot already secured this term.

Now he wants the supporters to enjoy the last game of the campaign, saying: "When I came in originally, I thought we'd be involved in a relegation fight at this point, so to be where were are, to be competitive with all the teams in the top six has been great.

"But the players deserve all the plaudits. Maybe I'm the one who sits up here getting all the praise because I spend more time in front of the media.

"But the players deserve the credit as they have been fantastic. Hopefully on Sunday we can give the Kilmarnock fans a good finish to the season."

The Killie boss shrugged off comments from Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who commented on our tactical approach

"If you look at the majority of what Brendan said, it was correct and proper – but that (firefighter) line wasn't really befitting of a Celtic manager.

"It wasn't so much disrespectful, it was just a silly line to use in what was quite an honest post-match analysis of the game.

"We don't have to go there and play the way Celtic want us to.

"We went there to play the way that is best for us to get a result. It's my job as a manager to set my players up in a way that gives us the best chance of getting a positive result and that's what we did.

"If you are the team with 73 per cent of the possession then it's what you do with it that counts and on the night Celtic didn't do enough. They only had one shot on target, which for that amount of possession I'd think would be disappointing for Brendan and his team.

"If he wants to insinuate that Celtic could not have broken down 11 amateur players, which is what he was insinuating, then I think he underestimates his own abilities as a coach and the ability of his players because I'm pretty sure Celtic would beat 11 firemen.

"I didn't see Brendan after the game, we didn't have the usual post-match chat so I don't know if he was frustrated or not after the results we've had against them this year. I don't think he should be too frustrated seeing as they have two trophies in the bag already and the chance to make it three next week."

The Kilmarnock Football Club is pleased to announce that Phyllis McLeish has joined the Board of Directors.

The move is a landmark moment for the club as Phyllis becomes the first woman director to take an active role on the board in over 20 years.

Directors John Kiltie, Billy Bowie and Bill White are delighted to welcome Phyllis on board following such a successful recent campaign.

Phyllis has over 25 years experience in business & finance, specialising in the construction and rail sectors over the last 15 years. With a background in accountancy, Phyllis has spent the last 10 years with QTS Group, a successful railway engineering company which she, her husband and other McLeish family members are director/shareholders.

QTS has seen exponential growth over the last six years and is now one of the top 20 maintenance suppliers to Network Rail. Phyllis had a combined remit of Finance & Commercial Director at QTS, but three years ago reduced her role to that of Commercial Director to allow her to pursue other interests and dedicate more time to her family, new business interests and her charity work.

A recent addition to her business life has been the formation of the AM Media Group which includes Ayrshire Magazine. This long held ambition to be part of the creative industries realised and which she is looking forward to developing.

In her position as Commercial Director at QTS, she has overseen the brand become big supporters of Developing the Young Workforce, Women in Engineering and the sponsorship of Young Athletes.

Phyllis is also one of the founding trustees of the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (KCST) and in addition supports the Prince’s Trust in Scotland in a variety of ways including sponsorship and as a table host at the Trust’s legendary charity day “Lunch with an Old Bag”. QTS and the McLeish family also provide considerable donations and other support to many other local and national charities.

Phyllis McLeish commented: "Through QTS and the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust, I have been now been involved with Kilmarnock Football Club for over six years and have developed a real affection for the club, its people and its community.

"My husband Alan and I, as director /shareholders of QTS Group, have been happy to have our brand associated with the club as first team shirt sponsors and youth & ladies section sponsors. QTS, since its inception, has directly employed many Kilmarnock supporters, and their passion and loyalty to the team is impressive.

“We have also enjoyed similar loyalty from many of them as valued QTS employees, and my continued support of Kilmarnock FC is partly in recognition of this and partly because I enjoy supporting the team and would like to see the club continue to thrive.

"It will be a real honour to not only become a shareholder, but to also sit on the board and be the first active woman director in over 20 years, especially at such an exciting time for the club. I hope that my past commercial, financial and marketing skills can make a contribution to the club’s future development and I look forward to supporting the club’s CEO, Kirsten Robertson, and the board in achieving its goals."

Clarke remains hopeful Mulumbu may opt to stay in Ayrshire for another year but said he is fully aware Mulumbu is keen for a final lucrative payday.

Speaking ahead of Killie's game with Hearts, he told Press Association Sport: "I don't know if it's Youssouf's last game or not.

"I know he's loved his time up here in Scotland and he's been very important for us.

"But if a bigger offer was to come along and Youssouf thought it was a better offer then I'd expect him to move on.

"Youssouf has been good for us and we've been good for him as well.

"He's much more marketable than he was this time last year when he didn't have a club.

"We talk regularly. He probably says he doesn't get much sense out of me and I could say the same in return. "But we both know what's happening and he's very grateful to have had the chance to play here at Kilmarnock.

"He understands we've helped him a lot. He doesn't want to be disrespectful and say he's going to leave. "I do know that he is hoping something with a little more money comes along and he can get a chance to finish with one last bumper contract and we respect that.

"I said when he came that the Kilmarnock fans should just enjoy him while he is here and if they come along at the weekend they can enjoy him for at least one more game."

On-loan Newcastle defender Stuart Findlay is yet to decidewhether Sunday's season closer will be his final appearance in blue and white.

Findlay's St James' Park deal expires in the summer but the youngster has told Clarke he wants to keep his options open for the time being before putting pen to paper on a permanent move north.

Clarke said: "Stuart's in a good position. He's out of contract in the summer. He and his agent want to see what the lie of the land is.

"I know Stuart's very happy here playing for Kilmarnock and for me. He feels he can learn here.

"Hopefully that's enough to persuade him to stay when he becomes a free agent."
