Only seen him sober a couple of times, once offered me £100 to be his son because he didnt have one. I declined the offer. Good guy who let alcohol get the better of him. The same stories for me, I used to visit family in Garmouth on the odd Sunday and sure enough a vist to the Hotel would ensure he'd be there with a good bucket in, I walked in one time and he shouted , 'He'min dae ye want to buy a fitba club'. A top man when it came to football but as with many of us Scots a fool when it came to drink. An absolute Legend for us at Caley. Look what he did with Barry Robson alone, a Rangers reject, farmed him out to the HL for two seasons when he first came to us, and then slowly blended him in to the first team where he ripped defenses apart and then went on to top teams and a Scotland Shirt, great man management skills Paterson. Scottish Fitba Base
Steve Paterson a great character. When he used to manage Formartine United he would offer pies out to reporters before chatting to them.
