'The Snip'

Recommended Posts

Had my second daughter in January there and that is definitely me with regards to having any more kids especially since I said all my days that I would never have kids, but I just don't think I can bring myself to get this done. It sounds fucking horrible.

It's a week of horrid but for me was well worth it. After 2nd kid my missus was increasingly allergic to the pill....tried loads different ones but all made her ill n she did like me wearing condoms. Surgeon I had might have been bit robust with me but I'm tadpole free so good result in end.

If I had to choose between the wife and my fully functional manhood, i'd like to think it would be a pretty straight forward decision tbh.

I have now joined the sterilised of p n b as of 11 this morning.

It was a strange experience laying back on a table looking at a bike light above a bit Like a really inappropriate dentist. It wasn't even that weird getting stripped in front of 3 people. The injection was like when you get a filling and see smoke coming off my baws was a bit concerning but no real pain or drama it was literally done in under 10 minutes.

I now feel mostly okay but it aches a bit like taking a mitre mold master to the stones at great speed. The only issue was I had to pick up the 1 year old who fell over and banged her head which did twinge. Hoping this is as bad as it gets.

Oh and I got a party bag to take home with sample pots and pre paid envelopes.

Bump.

So after the birth of 2nd the_craig jr a month ago, I've decided to put an appointment or to ask if I can get my wings clipped. I have discussed it at length with Mrs the_craig over the past 18 months so it's not a snap decision.

So we'll see how we go...

I got mine in 2014 - I've posted on this thread at the time.  Now for an unhappy update.

In November I woke up one morning feeling like someone had kicked me in the right baw. All day I was in pain and hobbling about. I thought nothing more of it and gobbled down some painkillers. Only the pain didn't go away. After a couple of weeks I went to the doctor. He (and his medical student) examined me, which basically meant they felt my baws for lumps or bumps.  There were none.  Then the doc squeezed on the tubes holding the baw, and I just about hit the roof.

He diagnosed epididimytis. Now, this comes in 2 forms - chronic or bacterial. Bacterial comes from either chlamydia or E coli, so he started me off on antibiotics and painkillers. 2 weeks later, no change, so he changed the antibiotics to some really powerful ones. Another 2 weeks, and again no change. So it wasn't bacterial Now, he reckons I've got the chronic version.  Things that make it flare up (for me) include driving and ejaculating - that's right. 2 minutes after letting loose I get a feeling like I've been stabbed in the baw. I have to wear "supportive" boxers and sometimes, when it's really agony, sit with a hot water bottle resting on my nuts.

In talking to the doc, he asked if I'd had a vasectomy. I said yes, and he told me that this sometimes happens - the scar tissue has become inflamed or irritated and hence, all my pain. He's got me on some ultra-low-dose anti-depressant which is supposed to help shut out the pain signals. Been on these for over a month and they have helped a bit. Reading online, this could go away within a few months - but a study done in 2002 interviewed around 100 guys with this condition, and the longest anyone had it for was 27 years. Today I got my prescription refilled, and I'm trying to cut down to 6 co-codamol a day.  It's agony at times - I was about in tears last night.

Well that was a pleasant bump, befitting of the thread.

What about getting steroid injections into the bollocks? Has the GP referred you back to a urologist? A GP will probably just give you the low-level drugs but a specialist might go more radical (ie injections) or some stronger drugs.

Genuinely crossed my legs reading that.

Hopefully you'll get shot of it soon, sure that guy's case was exceptionally unusual.

Get general anaesthetic if offered. I got local and it was one of the worst decisions of my life.

I got mine done in the early 1990s, my wife couldn't possibly go through another pregnancy due to medical concerns. Lying on the table I was a-sweat. The nurse asked if I wanted a general and I totally agreed, to which the surgeon said no, we've started and then wholeheartedly went into the procedure. Needle into the balls, then again, then again. Hardly any effect. The whole procedure was torture but was over in half an hour. I was in agony for 24 hours afterwards but if I was to do it again at the time, of course I would.

Got it done in 1996, a bit uncomfortable due to the doc's laissez-faire attitude to anaesthetic (not enough) but went to the pub afterwards. A piece of cake compared to being circumcised under LOCAL anaesthetic a few years back. The anaesthetist was feckin' useless!!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

As for the urologist, the GP reckons they wouldn't be able to do anything he hasn't done. And you can keep your steriod injections into the bollocks!

I didn't do any activities that could exacerbate this from Thursday, and am now 2 days co-codamol free. Need to drive tomorrow though.

Back to the doc on Friday. After a weekend of complete inactivity - no car, no Mrs Scottsdad, no quick five knuckle shuffle to pictures of Maggie Q - I felt fine. One drive into work and I'm getting that creeping feeling again. By the time I get home I'm going to be fidgeting around something rotten. The 30/500 cocodamols are barely enough when it gets bad. Hoping for some other treatment (not an injection into the baws) - surely there is something that will help. Last Thursday night was just intolerable.

Maybe stronger painkillers for when it gets that bad? Eg Dihydrocodeine or something else with a bit of oomph. If you really ham it up to the docs they'll hopefully relent and give you something more exotic. Still say the injections would be worth it, if only so you could report back on just how painful they were.

I've tried tramadol before when my knee was bad. I only ever took the one, and spent 40 minutes with my head between my knees. Never took another one.

I've taken an average of 6 a day for the last 20 years. Its the only thing that gets me through.

Can I be the first to say...... it just isn't natural?

Why any man would want to remove the man in him, I don't know. But If I ever get married and this suggestion is raised. I'll be running for the hills.
