Swarley
Asian groups for final qualifying round announced today. Group A - South Korea, Iran, Uzbekistan, China, Syria & Qatar. Group B - Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq & Thailand. Top 2 of each group qualify for Russia. Third placed in both groups have 2 Leg play-off. Winner of play-off then meets 4th place side from CONCACAF. Group A looks like should be easy for Korea & Iran. Group B will be Japan and should be Australia but they can be utter shite away in the Middle East. Games start in September. The three away trips to the Middle East will be where it's won or lost but Australia should be good enough.

Zetterlund
Didn't pay much attention to the England squad when it was announced but I assume Big Sam will be starting with a front 3 of Carroll, Crouch & Kevin Davies.
s_dog
The big news for England is that Allardyce is naming a team with 8 players who started in the defeat to Iceland at the Euros. No doubt they'll cruise through the qualifiers only to end up disappointing in the finals. At least we are consistently disappointing and the team do well not to get anyone's hopes up before failing to qualify.

Zetterlund
Pleasing to see Stones already fannying about and getting caught in possession outside his own box. You wouldn't want to take that out of his game though apparently.

Bishop Briggs
Just now, Lofarl said: Hope Rose starts too Agreed. Rose is terrible defensively, a mediocre midfielder at best. Hopefully, Big Sam will prefer him to Shaw and Bertrand.
