If it was Gill why not just let Ted be convicted?

She is going to let him be convicted. But the original cash in hotel evidence wouldn't have been enough once Ted's legal guy eventually clocked on to the false search. So she brought it up so the new evidence could finish him. Also makes her look like she's got Ted's back.

Fucking hell cant believe I’ve only just remembered that Ryan guy from season 1. Knew I recognised the name Simon Bannerjee from somewhere.

Also I think I've heard the beginning of his interview before, maybe it was the same words Dot used when explaining to Hilton(?) why he joined the police?

great ending!

Spoiler

quite liked that I was sat there expecting everything to go tits up, but it all went about as well as it could go for AC-12.

Ted was lying about dumping the laptop because of porn - maybe because of the £100k? -  and his reaction to Corbett's relationship to Anne-Marie was interesting. I reckon he dobbed Corbett in and broke down when he realised who he was.

So I guess this whole thing will finally wrap in series 6, probably in 2 years time. A fair bit of signposting that DCC Andrea Wise is the 4th person, lining up another big red herring there I think. I wonder was she one of the ones interviewing Ryan or if it was just some random coppers?

I'm just delighted that Ted was proven innocent, what a man. Reckon he'll slip into retirement once they've finally got to the bottom of everything.

What a journey, what a show.
