We should do a P&B's top 50 games of all time

I'd happily set this up if I got enough supporters.

some rules would need to be sorted out

or has someone done something like this already and I have missed it?

1.PES 5

2. Champ man 01/02

3. GTA Vice City

4. Shenmue 1&2

5. MGS2

These games I vividly enjoyed, not necessarily the best games.

I've not finished The Last Of Us yet but that should probably go in there instead of MGS2

It's already been done mate. Was a couple of years ago right enough.

5. Wolfenstein: The New Order - I wasn't expecting this to be anything special when I started the game. I was expecting at most a decent WW2-style FPS, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The gunplay in this game is just way too satisfying, and the amount of different guns and perks you can get make this such a joyful experience. It features the most demented villain in gaming in my opinion, and there are a handful of emotional scenes thrown in there as well. Without doubt the best FPS I have ever played.

4. Mega Man Legends - I got this game the day after we got the PS1, because my dad thought that Crash Bandicoot 2 and TOCA 1 wasn't enough. Having played Mega Man 2 on the NES previously, I was over the moon when I discovered there was another title on a modern console, and it was 3D! I loved the alive and colourful city, the hilarious villains, and the creppy vibe of the dungeons. I played it again after 20 years, and I managed to beat it after failing to do so during my childhood. I have to admit, I got a little emotional when I watched the ending where the townspeople wave you goodbye.

3. Mega Man 2 - Just like MML, I have a deep connection with this title. I have never seen my family get so immersed in a game before. Trying to find out what weapon takes down the robot masters the fastest was such a pure experience. My dad and Auntie were obsessed with this game, and I still remember how shocked they were when they discovered that you still have to go through a fortress after defeating the 8 robot masters. Shit got real at that point, and hearing the Wily Stage 1 for the first time made me really appreciate the art of gaming. If anyone has never heard this stage theme before, you should give it a listen. It is an incredible piece of 8-bit music, and shows why the NES and SNES Mega Man games had some of the greatest music in gaming. Here is a link to the Wily Stage 1 theme:

2. Tony Hawk's Underground 1 - This game was everything to me back when I was a skater during the 00's. The story was fucking superb, and it birthed one of the most underrated antagonists in gaming: Eric-fucking-Sparrow!

1. Super Mario Bros 3 - What an incredibly ambitious game. It added so much revolutionary ideas like the inventory, mushroom houses, card games, and the 8 unique maps. I still have fond memories of my kid-mind being so immersed reading through the instruction booklet during long car rides. Each world offers variety, and it stops the gameplay from getting a bit stale. My favourite worlds are Sky world, Ice World, and GIANT world. One thing I absolutely love about this game is that there are a lot of rare occurrences that keep the game exciting. For example, there is only one level that features these enemies that jump around on those shoes that you can ride yourself. Since it only turns up briefly and is never seen again after the level, this makes the level and world stand out more. The same could be said for the Coin ship, the secret white Mushroom House, and the amazing Hammer Bro suit that only turns up in two mushroom houses. There is a good chance that there are a handful of people reading this that have never seen or heard of the Coin Ship and white Mushroom House. This proves how game-changing SMB3 is. There are still people discovering secrets to this day and being blown away by them. Last year, I remember showing my brother the magic whistle that was in world 2. He thought I was full of shite, since he was convinced that there were only 2 magic whistles in the game. When he was proven wrong, he looked like he just discovered ancient buried treasure lol. That is the power that SMB3 has.

5: Crisis zone, the upgraded time crisis, where you had a machine gun instead kf a handgun and had a permanent hide behind your swat style shield, loved time crisis as well but this was another level, would love a new gen version of these

4: Final Fantasy 8, this will probably get me some growls but i preferred this over 7, purely because of the junction system, you could actually customise your characters fighting style, set one up as a tank/healer while the other two were the brute force fighters or magic users

3: Pro evo 5 (or 4 canny mind, but one of the ps2 versions shall never be beaten as a football game ever) just sheer and utterly sublime, pro evo was the reason i bought a ps2 with my then student overdraft, and i bought every version on the ps2 that was released after that even when its decline was beginning to be noticable, shame how far its fallen now

2 Mario Kart wii, firstly wanna special mention mario kart snes, without that we'd have never gotten the improved ones as the generations improved, but by god the wii version was something else, utter class, weapons, characters and tracks, simply unbeatable

1 Super Mario World (snes) for me this is it, 96 levels of sheer fun, frustration, pain and delight from start to finish, from the ghosts that only appear when your back is to them to the switch points, the boss castles, even the wire fences that you could punch in places and flip to the other side, just sheer brilliance

Special mention to super paper mario on the wii, the ability to change from 2d to 3d to get by certain parts of levels was fantastic, fucking nintendo and their innovations in games lol

5. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion PC

Absolutely loved this game, easily got 300 hours out of it. I loved the atmosphere of the world, even if it was a bit generic fantasy it was generic fantasy done well.

4. God of War 2 PS2

Excellent game. Combat was extremely fun and the graphics were somebody the best on the PS2. Some of the world design and art was superb. Special mention to the exceptional soundtrack.

3.  Ps2 era Pro Evo {for a specific game PES6} PS2

Pro Evolution in the PS2 era was the King. I remember always being baffled that Fifa always outsold it despite Fifas thentreading through sludge game speed. Master League consumed numerous hours. I put PES6 here as for multiplayer the random selection mode was great fun. What Konami did to PES with that Efootball monstrosity does not bear thinking about.

2. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 PS2

My older brother got this for Xmas the year it game out. Gameplay and combo making was so smooth and with the 2 minute mode great for quick playing sessions. Multiplayer was fantastic to play. Bought an old copy at CEX a couple of years ago and the gameplay has aged superbly.

1. Rome Total War {2003} PC

The first game I recall being blown away by. Seeing hundreds of soldiers horses and sometimes elephants at ground level was mind blowing for my 11 year old self. Then you would go back to the 3d campaign map to plot your next move. The atmosphere, attention to detail and soundtrack were all incredible and arguably put some of the modern total wars to shame. I must have put in at least 1000 hours into it.

Some honourable mentions are:

Ace combat 4 PS2

Command and Conquer Generals PC

Rise of Nations PC

Cod 4 Modern Warfare PS3

Il2 Forgotten battles PC

Everyone I know who loves an ability to break a game loves this one the most.

GTA 5
FIFA
PES
NFS MW
Football Manager
In addition, after a hard day's work, I love to play in the casino, sometimes in various card games. I prefer casinos that accept Boku Mobile payments, which I learned on the site https://casinosters.com/banking-methods/boku-casinos/ This makes it easy to make a deposit on an online gambling site. You don't need your credit or debit card, everything is already integrated into your smartphone.

A top 5 is so difficult. Any given day I could probably give a completely different list.

1. Championship Manager 01/02

For sheer amount of time playing a game this wins hands down, beating some incredible titles through the years. It's the perfect blend of depth, speed and customisation with the editor. I've had some insane careers with so many different clubs. Ayr were one of my favourites with Teale,  McGinlay, Scally and Lovering being amazing players. Mark Kerr remains to this day a gaming character legend along with Tsigalki and Cherno Samba.

Incredibly, there is a community to this day that provide updates for the current seasons.

2. Deus Ex

I picked this up randomly one day from Electronic Boutique for the PC. One of the best buys I've ever made, even after 10 play throughs I was finding more secret areas and small details.

An incredible story with a great cast, this might feel a little linear today but the world was vast at the time and the graphics pretty good for an older title. There's a moment around half way where a decision you make to deal with a situation changes the fate of someone, which blew my mind. Also again later on, you can see your pilot die or be saved last second if you know how.

The gameplay for this was so much fun and sure, the mechanics and character movements improved with the series, nothing could touch the original for sheer story telling and fun. Big shout out to the soundtrack as well, I can recall every area's tune to this day.

3. Mass Effect 3

Forget the ending. Forget it. Now, the climax to this story was a joy to play through. The music is incredible and even without the added on content of the citadel and leviathan dlc, this game was fucking perfect. Fight me if you don't like that! The idea of having to go through missions to build enough resistence to the Reapers is great and just so good to complete. Sticking it to the Illusive Man is a great feeling, chain smoking p***k.

Leaving Earth may be the best soundtrack to any title, it captures the mood perfectly.

The fighting in London is as intense as anything in any game. Brilliance, sheer brilliance. Of course, this title isn't there without 1 and 2, honorable mentions for this list.

4. Fifa 98 Road to the World Cup

Has there been a football game since that you can play as every single fucking nation on the planet, as well as countless leagues? This was so huge for the time, just so many teams to play.

The customisation was brilliant for its time too. Team signed a new striker? No problem, can edit that. Can't do that on the titles now sadly.

The music. Mind that opening movie with Song 2? Can't forget it, it's classic. Also birthed my love for The Crystal Method who created a lot of the soundtrack on this. Get Busy Child!

The gameplay and graphics might have dated but it was brilliant for its time. Also, little touches like adding crowd noises like horns and drums (Samba music for Brazil!) When you score was magic.

And we can't forget the 5 a side indoors mode.

Or two footed lunge/elbow to the pus/ push your opponent L2.

5. Final Fantasy 8.

Could go for any between 7 and 10 but 8 was the first I fell in love with. Squall was a character I saw a lot of myself in, a bit of a loner, moody and didn't want the help of others.

Quistis remains high on my wid list to this day.

A crazy story but told so well with a cast that I fell in love with.

The junction system was confusing to start with but when you get it, it opens up a whole new life to this game.

Cards!!!! Fucking HOURS OF my life spent playing triple triad. Best mini game ever.

Mentions to Destruction Derby, LoU, Rdr2 and in the future Hades might even penetrate this list. So many others!

I enjoyed that game. I was a Pro Evo fan growing up (as they were the comfortably better titles at that time) and that FIFA is the title I put the most hours in to. Wasn't it the first game that let you play indoors as well, as a 5 a side?

I had one major gripe with it though. My CM could have created about 10 chances in a game, won every tackle, never misplaced a pass the entire match. But the sub who came on and scored the one and only goal of the game would collect the MotM award. Even at 9 years old that used to piss me off [emoji38]

An honest to God masterpiece. So simple in its premise and so effective. If you even have a definition of a Magnim Opus then this is certainly it for Edmund McMillan which is quite something given his other projects including Super Meat Boy.

The sheer amount of content and effort put into this game over the last 11 years to keep it fresh, varied and relevant is mind blowing and I love the game as much now as when I first got it on the 360 back in 2014.

Ed McMullen said the Repentance expansion is the end but he also said that about the Afterbirth+ expansion. Isaac is the love of his professional life, the fact that he developed and made a full card game off the back of it and recently announced a year of Isaac based subscription merchandise lootboxes is proof of this and the games popularity.

People will still be playing this game, and not in the retro 'Remember this? Let's give it a spin' way, long after most of us are gone.

I was genuinely upset when I read that Maxim Tsigalko died a few years ago.

edit: Christmas Day 2020, to be more precise.  Fitting, as he was a gift to us all.
