Racism in junior football.

Does anyone at Ardeer know if the player has reported the matter to the police? If this has happened I don't think it should be the SJFA dealing with it, racial abuse, no matter where it takes place, is totally unacceptable in our society and people who partake for whatever reason should be dealt with accordingly, it would be interesting to find out if any of the guys team mates did hear anything.

Just out of curiosity, what if it was your team mate being racially abused.take the uniform off before answering ????

Wonder if they have a tea towel size flag like the four camelon ultras
They don't and they don't wear bunnets and sook Wherther's Original during the game like the Bo'ness and Linlithgow ultras either.

Forum Acceptable Use Policy

About Us
Pie and Bovril is owned by P&B Sports Ltd and has been in operation since January 2003. The forum is an integral part of our site and is moderated on a day to day basis by a small team of dedicated volunteers with the aim of giving all Scottish Football fans at all levels an area for good natured discussion on the internet.

Moderation
We moderate the forum on a common sense basis and would ask that each of our visitors obeys simple general good manners and common sense when posting on the forum. We have a very wide range of user groups represented on the forum so please don't post excessive swearies, pornographic pictures or anything that you wouldnt want your own kids accessing when they are online.Similarly we have a "Not Safe For Work" forum in the general nonsense section of the forum. This is more loosely moderated and has it's own guidelines published at the top of that particular forum. All users should read the warning contained on that forum description before entering. In short if you are easily offended then don't visit the NSFW board.

The moderators can and will move topics which are posted in the wrong area, and they will also close tpics that they deem to have served their natural life or which have gone well astray from the original topic.

Warning System
The mods will issue warnings for bad behaviour on the forum and each user will see their own warning level when posting on the board. If the warning level reaches 10 then the user will be banned without exception. Reasons for any warnings given will be included in your warning profile so just click on the % next to your warn level and you'll see what crimes you committed.Warnings may also be rescinded for good behaviour or on appeal on occasion. Users may also be banned without notice or explanation from the team if we feel it is in the best interests of P&B.

Racism
We are active supporters of the "Show Racism the Red Card" and will not tolerate racism of any kind on the board. Anyone posting what we deem to be racial abuse will be banned for life.

Special Boards
SPL visitors are reminded that there is a special forum set-up for Rangers v Celtic discussions. We also have divisional boards for each of the senior leagues and ask that fans who wish to discuss a certain team do so in the most appropriate forum. There are cup forums for discussing domestic, european and international matches.

Images on the web are covered by copyright. Please do not post images you do not have the copyright to on the forum. In the event of any copyright images being posted on the forum these will be removed wherever possible. P&B Sports will not be responsible for any actions relating to the posting of copyright images but will act in good faith to remove these as soon as possible once notified of any copyright infringement.

Religous Prejudice - Addendum added 31st October 2008
There has been much comment in the media, and indeed on these forums about the use of religious prejudice in Scottish Society, and of particular relevance to us on this forum, where this seeps into the fabric of our favourite national sport. To clarify the position in Scots Law with regard the use of religious prejudice note the following revised sections of Scots Criminal Law;Section 74 (2) specifies that an offence is aggravated by religious prejudice if;A. at the time of committing the offence or immediately before or after doing so, the offender evinces towards the victim (if any) of the offence, malice or ill-will based on the victim's membership (or presumed membership) of a religious group, or of a social or cultural group with a perceived religious affiliation; or B. the offence is motivated (wholly or partly) by malice and ill-will towards members of a religious group, or of a social or cultural group with a perceived religious affiliation, based on their membership of that group. In real terms these offences do not need to be verbal. They apply to written form as well and of course this affects Pie and Bovril members. You can see a real life example of the sort of thing that can happen by reviewing this article which reports on an offender being charged with committing a "racially aggravated breach of the peace" for wearing a t-shirt which had the words "dirty horrible ****" written on it. Thus, in order to protect ourselves, and you our members, I thought it necessary to eliminate any grey areas which currently exist in the forum policy. With immediate effect the use of religiously prejudicial terms including but not limited to terms like "***", "tim", "*****", "*****", "******" and the like will not be tolerated on these forums. We will use a filter to catch most of these terms before they are posted however we are aware that a large number of ways exist to circumvent that filter so for clarification any posts made that include these sorts of terms, and any posts made which indicate a religious prejudice on the forum will be removed by the moderators and the posters issued with warnings.

Further subsequent warnings will result in a permanent ban from the board.Similarly if we are approached by any criminal authority relating to any post made on the board we will provide IP and email details to assist with any investigation that arises as a result of any post made on the board. If you see a post on the forum you are unhappy with and you think contravenes this policy please raise it via the complaints forum and it will be dealt with as quickly as we can. Remember we have several thousand posts made here every day and it is impossible for us to read and approve every one. Self policing will help us make the forum a better place to be.

Please treat this policy with respect, enjoy Pie and Bovril, enjoy the banter with your fellow football fans, but don't bring religious prejudice onto the forums of P&B.

Have fun !
In short, enjoy the forum, get involved, and if anything really upsets you please use the complaints forum to bring it to our attention and we will review.

Thanks

Collie wasn't at the game but may have spoken to some of our players.

From my viewpoint yards away in the stand, Arnie appeared agitated on at least three occasions throughout the game, seemingly try to alert the referee to something he had missed. Whether that was abuse or anything else I don't know as I left the ground just after full-time and haven't spoken to anyone from the club in any detail since.

Wait, are you saying that Colliebhoy, the OP,wasn't actually at the game?

Yes, although he's almost certainly spoken to a number of people who were, both on and off the park.

Nothing wrong with posting about something you didn't personally witness, especially alleged racist abuse.

collieboy is bottom of the predictor league.

Not relevant I know but it does mean he predicts a load of shite

On racism itself a number of auld boys at junior games are still in the dark ages when a player of a different ethnicity appears..

They just abuse under their breath as opposed to out loud.

Terrible behaviour but still an era thing.

Whats even more bizarre is to hear how the ******* is the best player on the park !!!!!

An appreciative racist !!!

Re: the prediction league : I think that's because he often forgets to predict a lot of shite!

I do think there are a number of people, not just football fans, who are of an older mentality so to speak, but I'd say that's quite different to one player allegedly abusing another.

Actually, from a legal perspective, there's quite a lot wrong with making accusations based on hearsay,on a public forum, though I don't doubt his intentions were good.

Hopefully, the folk who told him of these sad events will also have had conversations with the relevant authorities, and the appropriate action will be taken.

Meantime, all the best to young Arnie who no doubt will get the same backing from his club and team mates that he's getting from just about everyone on here.

Yes I wasn't at the game but have spoken with Arnie and other players and management. Arnie was subjected to racial comments and constant monkey noises unsurprisingly all out with the earshot of the ref.

As I've already stated I don't blame greenock as a club for the actions of one individual but would hope they would take action when this is proven through official authorities.

I also don't see what the behaviour of the ardeer ultras has to do with this thread. As already stated this was to bring attention to a player who has previously caused trouble and his treatment of another player.

Got told this morning about this and have no doubt something happened. However I also think we are being a bit selective in what we do and don't find highly offensive. I've been to loads of games where I have heard offensive remarks, some of them racist but they are ignored or overlooked dependant on who is saying it.
