Nicky Walker suspension (SJFA)

Recommended Posts

This topic is to raise the awareness of a shambolic situation in respect of this players suspension.

Bo'ness United midfielder Nicky Walker received a red card against Penicuik on the 27th of December.

Subsequently he was given a two match ban.

Nicky was due to complete the ban against Broxburn however the match was abandoned at half time meaning he would miss the Junior Cup tie against Hurlford on the 17th of January. This match has now been called of three times and in the intervening period Bo'ness arranged to play Musselburgh (off) and today played Carnoustie in a league fixture

As such Walker completed his two match suspension today...

Or at least you would think so but not according to the head of the SJFA who for some reason thinks that Walker should be suspended for next weeks tie at Hurlford.

You would think he would have a point if Bo'ness had tried to circumvent the suspension by arranging a midweek game to complete the ban but instead they have merely played a fixture sanctioned by the East Region. Also take into consideration that the ban was meant to have been completed before the Hurlford tie even took place. Would they have added an extra game if the Broxburn game had been completed? No, not a chance.

So how can they say Walker has not served his suspension?

How can they insist that Walker misses the Hurlford tie.

I'm sure Nicky Walker will be on the park next week and I'm convinced that the SFA or whoever Bo'ness United need to appeal too will see the sheer idiocy of the situation.

It really is time for a change at the top in the juniors.

p.s First game of ban served v Camelon on 03/01/15

SJFA want his 2-game ban to last 3 games...?!?!

Not sure if i am missing something here but surely he hasn't completed his two game ban as a game not completed will be scrubbed from the record books .

Has he not just served one of his banned games ... against carnoustie . with the musselburgh game off and broxburn aband.

I don't think that's what Tynieness is saying.

Since he was sent-off v Penicuik and given a 2-game ban, Bo'ness have played 2 games without him, league matches v Camelon & v Carnoustie.

Tynieness seems to be saying that the SJFA have then told them that he now has to serve another (3rd) game ban, against Hurlford in the Junior Cup, for some reason.

Boness v Camelon and then todays game makes two complete games

The Broxburn game was an abandonment therefor it doesn't count as a match ban served.

After playing Carnoustie today Nicky still has 1 match to serve.

Think that's right??..

And going by the logic of this idiocy, what happens if the Hurlford match is OFF again next week and another league game is pencilled in? Does Nicky miss that one too? Looks like being the longest two match ban in history. I can't believe that they have told him he couldn't play today or against Hurlford next week, don't understand it at all.

That's a weird one aswell...

Surely the ban would start straight away?

Making it up as they go along. The sooner we join up to the lowland league the better for me.

Something doesn't make any sense here, unless the ban didn't come into force until after the Camelon game for some reason.

Bo'ness v Penucuik was a league match. If he was given a 2-game ban, why would it be served as 1 league game and 1 game in the Junior Cup...

... let alone 2 league games, and then 1 game in the Junior Cup as well, making 3.

Scuzz also makes an interesting point. If the Hurlford tie is off next week and Bo'ness play something else, is the SJFA implication that he misses that too, like today? Making 4?

EDIT: Actually, something is ringing a faint bell from a few years ago.

Tynieness - is SJFA saying that you might've deliberately arranged today's league game to clear his ban, "dastardly cunning" so-to-speak, so he shouldn't play until whenever the Hurlford match is played - regardless of how many games that is?
