Zen Archer (Raconteur)
I lived in Dunfermline for a brief spell and think its pretty decent. Easy commute to Edinburgh and Glasgow and a pretty good community. I can see myself living in Fife in later years f**k no!

paranoid android
Dalkeith Wonderful people, great boozers, 40min bus journey into the city centre. Train station opening soon. Not sure if serious.
throbber
Pittsburgh is right Stockbridge is nice if you have plenty cash and enjoy a dull life. Leith is still changing a lot it's been happening for 20 years of course. Towards the bottom of the Walk It would be a good time to buy if you had the chance Its changing all the way out to Granton, by the time we are all dead it will be a waterfront to rival other European capitals
pittsburgh phil
I prowl around the area quite a lot but not familiar with the Marksman, have drunk in the central bar a few times though! Think theres a wetherspoons around there so that might have been it The Spoonys is the Foot Of The Walk, about 100 yards from the Central Bar...opposite the supermarket which used to be a big Co-Op. Also good pubs down by the waterfront as well

the jambo-rocker
The Brass Monkey does a v.v. Dece quiz on a Monday night. Refurbished houses in the Meadowbank area are nay half bad either for value.
Boostin' Kev
Meadowbank is a good call. A lot quieter but good space for money there's plenty property there. Brass Monkey's a good pub for fans coming from that direction the boy that does the quiz is a bell end though.
Nelly78
I lived in Polwarth for 7 years before having a kid just over a year ago and moving to Alnwickhill. Polwarth was brilliant, particularly as my flat was a couple of mins walk from the Poly, the golden rule, caley sample room and diggers. Chuck in Piatto Verde and only being 20 mins walk to Princes St and it was great. Enjoy living get out here as well though. Having Braid Hills at the end of the street is brilliant. ICTChris
I stayed in Polwarth before moving to Leith, it is a good area. My flat was a complete dump though, hence us moving after only being there six months.
paranoid android
The OP might want to think again after reading this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-30728135 "Police are investigating after a chicken was killed and another seriously injured in an attack in Edinburgh."
