info Posted January 10, 2015 Share Posted January 10, 2015 Some facts in case anyone is interested in facts! Newton Stewart game was at Lochar Wigtown game was at Tram. Wed morning Wigtown sec phoned to see if Community pitch was available on Sat and was told it was as Newton Stewart was away to Lochar and their pitch was playable.Newton Stewart players were informed and offered (in case lochar was called off at last minute)1pm or 3-30 booking and opted for 1pm.Lochar game was still on and Wigtown agreed to play at 3-30pm. On Fri Afternoon Lochar called the game at Dumfries off and were offered 1pm KO at Blairmount as per South league rules.After consulting with the committee and manager Lochar declined to switch as is their right. Why Newton Stewart Committee are to blame for this is beyond my understanding. If Newton Stewart FC want to spend £80 every Sat reserving Blairmount Park they are free to do so but every Sat Newton are not officially at home Creetown Wigtown Stranraer Rangers or anybody is entitled to book Blairmount Community Park on a first come first served basis. Would the committee not have been better speaking to their lochar counterparts on chances of their pitch being playable and a kick off time that would suit both teams if they would swap venues rather than letting another team book the pitch?
