Montrose v The Shire

^^^^ me, at full time.

I am not a person who is entirely comfortable with the concept of someone losing their job, but I really don't know how many more pieces of evidence the board need regarding Shields and Wilkie. The charge sheet (0-3 Clyde, 0-4 EF, 0-4 Shire, Elgin, today's clusterfuck) is hefty and will only get bigger if they stay at the crease.

Only one conclusion:

Was impressed with our performance on Saturday our record up there is dismal still a tad confused how we nearly dominated the game for 75-80 mins until Big Marv got chucked forward up top but only thing he hit was three shire defenders at corner .

Changes are needed up north but don't listen to a small kid with a rangers top on who I quote said

"we need to freshen up the manager, get shields out and Barry Ferguson in" kids these days eh....:lol::rolleyes:

Shields is still in post and if there is no anouncement before the end of the week then it is pretty clear that the board intend to stick with him. There's no point getting rid if he is still in charge at the weekend as the new manager would not have the time to assess the squad or make the necessary changes beofre the window closes.

The chairman was in the paper today calling for increased support.

The causal link between record apathy, low crowds and winning one game in seventeen appears not to have percolated through yet. Supporters need an incentive, and to enjoy their football to turn up. No Montrose fan has ever expected winning every week, but maybe winning against poor teams when we need to would be enough to be going on with. We also have to say that Shire thoroughly deserved to win last Saturday and but for some utterly abysmal finishing would have won much more comfortably. Montrose never looked like scoring in a must-win game, which is just not acceptable.

The remaining hard core are turning up out of habit. The club has no money and appears, from the body language of the players, to be losing the will to live.

If this manager remains in charge we will go into a play off on the evidence of the utter dross that has been served up this season. And the outcome of that against either a Brora side with the experience and the money to compete in League One if they wish, or a very good Edinburgh City side, is far from certain.

A winning team or at least competing for playoffs would mean more interest, but since we have neither the club will struggle to attract more viewers. Something has to change but doesn't look likely.

Saturday was dreadful no fight at all from the players. The board now have the decision to make do we watch this same pish till the end of the season,or do we make a change.shields and wilkie will take most odd the blame, but the players have to look at their performance also theirs not one single player in the squad playing to their potential
