St Mirren Relegation Express

Recommended Posts

Magic result. Looks like playoffs at best and that would be my favoured route for the Midden to go down. The wee glimmer of hope before being utterly destroyed by Hibs. It would be like seeing the Paisley minks relegated twice. Sadly the cash you'd make in the play offs might just stave of bankruptcy - it's a hard one to call really.

Why would we have to stave off bankruptcy? We're not Dundee.

"Staving off bankruptcy" is a ridiculous assertion, but the reality probably will be funnier.

St Mirren go down. John McGinn gets sold to Aberdeen for peanuts. Steven "Thommohawk" Thompson retires. Jim Goodwin gets released as the club can't afford his wages. Dundee United sign Jason Naismith and Killie sign Sean Kelly. All loan players leave. An English club takes a chance on Mallan. Gregg Wylde hangs around. Dayton returns to England. Teale is released from his position with immediate effect.

Jimmy Calderwood is appointed St Mirren manager with Thompson as his assistant. Promises to bring in a whole host of Dutch talent. Signs Lewis Guy. Starts the season poorly, losing away to Dumbarton and rivals Morton. Crowds plummet. Money is pulled from the youth set-up in order to keep the playing squad at a semi-competitive level. Signs James Marwood. By Christmas, St Mirren are in the bottom two. Signs Sam Parkin. Alloa relegate St Mirren in front of 1203 at St Mirren Park.

Mark my words.

This is fanciful...we wouldn't finish below Morton.

The reality will be St Mirren finishing tenth on goal difference

St Mirren really are a dreadful football team. They have been clinging onto this division for years and its time to go.

Their fans also need to wake up, get behind your team and create some atmosphere rather than booing them, shocking away support today.

I thought our support were very positive and encouraging for 87 minutes today tbh. Certainly better than the usual atmosphere at home.

To make matters worse Killie ran out of pies before the end of half time :thumbsdown:bairn .

I spoke to one of the pie stall guys. He said that there would be pies available during the second half, but that they were not allowed to transfer them during half time itself in case they got stolen by all the fans standing around. Sakes.
