Oooft, the hunt is on for obit for Phil Taylors mum

A great tour of NZ tragically cut short with the death of Phil's Mother. All our thoughts and love are with the Taylor's today. #darts

So before Liz Taylor (no, not that one) gets an obit, here's the latest update to the leaderboard with Ned Nederlander getting up and running:

1 Albino Rover 96
1 Mo Wonderboy 96
3 Njord 86
4 Ned Nederlander 41
5 Everyone Else

Checked the Wikipedia deaths page today & was ready to celebrate when I saw that Paul O'Grady was dead.

Unfortunately, I have the crap TV presenter instead of this Australian MP

What are the chances of two Paul O'Grady's being gay?

A quick look down the list notes Marko Marin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marko_Marin_%28professor%29

Well yes - if by that you mean picking folk that aren't famous !?

A famous person's Mum !! Yer having a fucking laugh !?

It's outside the box, and he needs to find a qualifying obit. It's a gamble, I'll give him that.

People have to be sufficiently famous that their obituary makes a UK-based national news source such as - but not limited to- BBC, national newspapers, or Reuters UK. Local newspapers and special interest magazines (Gardner's Weekly etc) aren't broad enough and don't count.

Regarding this rule: I can't really rule anyone out on the grounds I've not heard of them

Yeah I'm not having that. So we could just pick anyone's maw?

Anyway, A$AP Yams http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jan/18/asap-yams-dies-aged-26

Correct ... they may well get the occasional mention in the press (i.e striker X has pulled out of the squad due to the ill health of Malcolm his Dad !) but they aint famous !

Spain's having a mare here.

1st allowing Mo Wonderboy to keep his female basketball player who is only famous cos she's dying.

Now allowing Phil Taylor's maw if any paper reports it.

That's like saying any poster on P&B could be chosen + count if they die in a car crash + they're named in an article in Sun etc

They may well be deid + it may well be in a national paper but they ain't famous!!!

Think I got out of this at the right time- this is another grey area.

I don't think Phil Taylor's mum is famous (I can't even picture her, nor do I want to given her son) but I think her death will receive enough of a mention to count under the letter of the law.

Someone who is primarily famous for being a more famous person's parent but famous enough in their own right is hard to judge- I'd have said someone like Tiger Woods' dad before he died would have been eligible.

Good luck, Spain.
