Google tells me the politicians get nothing but the others might get a small fee. Edited May 10, 2019 by welshbairn
Chapelhall chap
It was when Fiona Bruce described the Breaking point poster as "relatively ancient history" that I had a sharp intake of breath of the dumbing down of debate. I do feel it is a kind of zombie programme and I was addicted for a long time to that other post apocalypse genre, (Walking with the Dead?)so I keep watching. It was curious that as the only Election candidate it could be a breach of broadcasting conventions ?
Bold Rover
5 hours ago, Bob Mahelp said: Farage is the ultimate attention-seeking, opportunity grabbing, lying populist, and he recognises that this is an opportunity like never before. He's the figurehead for a one-issue party with serious money behind it, and is effectively being sponsored by the right-wing newspapers. He can spout of whatever garbage he wants, and get constant free publicity. It's the perfect storm for him after years of failing to get into mainstream politics. The question remains, what direction will he and his band of extremist lunatics take after the EU elections ? The last few years have proven that anything is possible, and with the Tories running terrified of him there's every chance he'll be desperate for more power. Dangerous times. How do you fancy a Johnson/Farage coalition? Does it look any less likely than it did going into the 2015 GE?
DeeTillEhDeh
Farage gets away with fucking murder on these programmes - I wish that just once there was someone in the audience that could expose and challenge the lying b*****d
jakedee
How can HIGNFY be pulled because of Heidi Allens participation, but this was broadcast? Double standards ?

Because the BBC is a propaganda outlet, and the current priority is to push a pro brexit message and silence anti brexit voices. I've said it many times, if you believe we live in a democracy you must zip up the back.

You'd have at least have thought, being in Elgin, they'd have got Douglas Ross on; or is he busy running the line in some play-off/European final?

The SNP need to call this out on the programme. If they don't they have learned nothing from indyref1. The constitutional question will undoubtedly be asked and you will have everyone on the panel apart from Swinney saying Scotland doesn't need or want another referendum. Another total stitch up by the looks of it and that's not even taking in the usual plants in the audience.
Mark Connolly
The rest of the world are going to see we not only let Richard Leonard become an elected politician, but also that he's the leader of a party.

It will be interesting to see if the Lib Dem says that we need a people's vote on the EU but not a people's vote on independence. It's a difficult one for them to spin. Not sure about Leonard's stance on a people's vote but I'm not sure about his stance on anything.

You've got a point there too. Swinney never seems to contribute much to these programmes. They could have chosen from Humza Yousaf, Mike Russel, Fergus Ewing, Roseanna Cunningham - Angus Robertson, while not currently an MSP would have also have been a better choice.
