Sir Rent Dippidy
Seen calls for Walter to take over for the rest of the season, personally I'd rather have a new coaching staff brought in and given time to prepare for next season. Don't you find it bemusing that the long term strategy for youth football development might rest with Smith, McCoist, Durrant?

No8.
I wouldnt mind an interim manager through to the end of the season or whenever they appoint the new manager. The most important thing for the club now is they get the right peeople in to start rebuilding the squad

Ken Fitlike
All this looking backwards to their -ahem - glory days, and bringing people back into the fold Maybe they should bring back the porn star tax accountant. Couldn't hurt,eh?

d31
Kenny was instructed to drop in the possibility of working with ally to see how media and fans reacted. looks like its a go-er. Personally think neither should ever have offered to leave anyway
thepundit
Walter Smith to take charge for the remaining games? I'd definitely be in favour of that. In fact, get him signed up long term!.. As I've said before though, Alex McLeish would be another I believe would do a good job at Rangers. Several of the Record's brain trust mentioned Derek McInnes as a possibility with no apparent regard for the present situation of things. What an utterly cretinous media we have in this country. The "present situation" is McInnes would likely accept the job of coaching Rangers if it was offered to him. Why wouldn't he?
statts1976uk
If McInnes does leave Aberdeen it'll be down to the Championship in England. He's building up a good reputation at Aberdeen on a limited budget which will be getting noticed down south. To think he'd jeopardise all that to head to a club with the issues that Rangers have currently have is wishful thinking from the Ibrox faithful. Mind you The Pundit is predicting this so expect him to sign for Celtic!
d31
rangers cant afford mcinnes at the moment. I question whether they can afford anyone other than mccoist and mcdowell
gav-ffc
Has to be McCoist imo. His forward thinking approach to playing youngsters through the lower leagues has been just what Rangers needed to do. He could have just signed players who were past it for crazy amounts of money but not wee Sally.

thepundit
Because it would be two steps backwards for his managerial career. Why would he do that? You seem to have an issue with accepting reality and prefer to defiantly continue to disbelieve things have swung in favour of the opposition. Probably explains the "aye" in your signature. Sure, McInnes may have been reluctant to join when the previous board was in charge, but these are exciting times and I'm convinced McInnes would no doubt accept the Rangers job. A financially stable club with an increased budget to spend on the playing squad, with a realistic chance of (longer term) winning trophies with Rangers on a regular basis and competing in Europe. Plus, he'd at the very least double his own salary. If McInnes does leave Aberdeen it'll be down to the Championship in England. Mind you The Pundit is predicting this so expect him to sign for Celtic! "wishful thinking" McInnes will take the job? Nah, I said Walter Smith or Alex McLeish should be top of the shortlist. I merely added McInnes would take the job if Rangers offered him it.
