Aubrey Maturin
Does anyone have any information on a match the took place in the early 80's between Brightons amateurs and Hibernian F.C? It took place at Quarry Park to mark the opening of new changing facilities. Apparently there was even an official match programme produced. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Aubrey Maturin
Hibs programme guide 1946/7 to 93/4 by Rikki Ragina doesn't mention the game, so might be that no programme was issued. Who knows, I will see what else I can find out. I have discovered someone at my work who actually attended the game. You are just so obsessed with Hibs, Tynie Hibs daft mate. Aubrey Maturin
Managed to find out a bit more about this game thanks to someone who actually played in it. It took place in either 1984 or 85 and the score was Hibs 4 Brightons 2 The Brightons 11 consisted of a mixture of their amateur and under 21 sides. The Hibs select was fairly strong with Callaghan and Kane playing among others. More importantly there was an official match programme produced for it, as the player I spoke to still has his.
