Stranraer v Ayr United

Recommended Posts

Stranraer are looking better than last season now. Lost Stirling but Gibson has more than made up for that. Lost Grehan yet we are top scorers in the league with three really good strikers this year(No disrespect to forde). lost Docherty but longridge has really come on to his game and pettigrew looks steady. If we are near top in December hopefully committee will take a wee gamble and bring in a couple of bodies.

Got Pettigrew , Robbo to come back in, if we can keep Wullie G and Danny Stoney not that many areas open for much else to come in IMO but of course could all change if we get further injuries or lose anyone.

Well no. On the basis of the division right now, there's absolutely no reason to argue against Stranraer going on to win the league. Ayr, on the other hand, have clearly got absolutely no chance of achieving anything whatsoever, in your sorry existence as Scottish football's worst full-time outfit.

Gutted for you.

TBH, in your position I'd probably not be too critical about other full-time outfits.

Will the committee make Wullie Gibson an offer he can't refuse to complete the season ??? they could do worse!!!

It's not up to the committee , it's up to Willie Gibson & Stephen Aitken and let's not forget Daniel Stoney we would also like to see him staying until the end of the season .

The club have a lot of faith in the management team they'll lets us know what their requirements are come Christmas .

Willie Gibson does look like he's enjoying his football at the moment , always a good sign. He certainly helped us forget Andy Stirling .

Still no resignation from our gaffa lol 2 wins in 12 games after this Tuesday night, meanwhile in the paper today his after match quote reads "If we get in at half-time at 1-0 its a different game" hahaha comedy gold from him. You couldn't make it up.

Aye if there had been a goal less it would have been a different scoreline.

Super Ayr eh. Worst away support you have taken to Stair Park in a long time. No more than 100. As for your team, wow. Worst Ayr team i have seen in a long time going by the two games we have played against you this year.

Game should not have been played in my opinion. Was dangerous at the start. Thankfully it dried up and when it did we could play our joyful attacking football again. Ayr had a decent spell in the second half for 20 minutes but only created one real chance that Mitchell had to make himself big for. We could have scored a few more on the day, which the highlights reflect. Winter, Gibson and Aitken were excellent. Stoney must be due a start after that performance and goal.

On our form i think we can compete with anyone in this league on our day. Just hope Aitken and Farrell aren't snatched up by then.
