Bold Rover
So Forres and/or Elgin exercising their right to use the Saturday means the Rovers have to make the journey midweek. Whilst it seems they didn't do anything wrong - by the rules - it wasn't exactly sporting of them. And what is the rule about certain travelling distance when considering the timing of replays? Albino Rover
Perhaps Forres - unlike John Devlin's Rover$ last season - wanted to schedule their replay for the time when they had the best chance of winning it. What's unsporting about that?
Hampden Diehard
Having just looked it up, Mosset Park has floodlights. Nevertheless, it's right that they be entitled to play their replay on a Saturday at this stage in the Cup- otherwise clubs without lights would be forced to play their replays on weekday afternoons. You're missing the point; Forres do have lights and play competitive matches under them. With the distance between the clubs being minimal, there was no justification, moral or otherwise, to play midweek.

Silly that clubs and fans at any level are expected to travel such journeys midweek when a more appropriate and logical outcome exists. Even if the rules are adhered to, us fans are overlooked and taken for granted as usual. No wonder football is going down the tubes. Of course the cup replay should have been played midweek and the league fixture should have remained as originally scheduled. Anyone who argues against that cares not a jot for fans and football in general.

It's interesting to see so many Devlin-"Monday replay"-sympathetic pots calling the Forres kettle black! No, Forres didn't win, and neither did cash-grabbing Rovers in their QF replay, but at least this club made a decision that gave the team the best chance of progressing to the next round- and gave the fans the best chance to see it. The Vers fans who couldn't make the game have lost out, and I'm sure Elgin are sorry to miss their custom, but under the circumstances it was necessary for one party of fans to miss out, and it's rightly the minority- on this occasion Rovers fans. If Elgin and Forres were offered a Sky televised replay on any given Monday night or at 4am Christmas Day for that matter then I am sure they would have gladly accepted it. Any club would. Be it Rover$ , Ranger$ or Chel$ea.
