Johann Lamont quits

The Master

Imagine having the disaster that is Iain Gray and then believing that Johann Lamont is the way forward. Labour should be finished in Scotland for that reason alone.

They're clearly not genetically programmed to make good appointments.

The idea of Labour thinking Jim Murphy could see off Nicola Sturgeon is the same kind of thinking that seen Gray and Lamont appointed. It's the same kind of thinking that thought Carmichael could be a battle axe warrior when against the SNP.

The big problem here is that there's no one to lead Labour at Holyrood between now and 2016. Now it's pretty clear that least one of Murphy, Brown and (less likely) Darling will be coming north of the border to see off wee Nic but there needs to be some kind of opposition to her in the mean time

Maybe Lamont could be offered a peerage in return for giving up her seat early and letting Jim Murphy in to Holyrood within weeks?

So your advocating giving an abject failure £300 a day to sleep in the Lords at our expense in order that a man, an ex professional student without a degree, can come up here and shout at grannies? Gid wan meight!

It's just a shame that Labour didn't keep her until the next Holyrood elections.

On a more positive note, Labour obviously thought she was the most capable politician they had at Holyrood. What must the rest be like?

Time for them to press gang Jim Murphy into a return to Scotland. The poor c**t will be in mourning. Clear for all to see that he only sees the Labour muppet vote up here as fodder to help keep Labour stocked up with safe seats, where they don't have to try a leg. He doesn't want to walk among them again, so soon after egg-gate. He'll be hating it. He sees his rightful place as London. Millibean possibly sees him as a threat.

Lamont complains that Scottish Labour is being run as a branch office in London. Do you honestly think that parachuting in some Blairite dinosaur from Westminster is really the image you want folk to see.
