Sadly her decision has deprived us of seeing her inevitable drubbing in her own Glasgow constituency in 2016, as the standing Scottish leader of her party.

Another reason to get on the Duncan McNeil bandwagon.

Sturgeon being a vile wee bisom will see her lose the next election almost regardless, but Labour need to address the haemorraging of votes under Gray/Lamont and they desperately need someone with a bit of gravitas to step in pronto. Jim Murphy is the man. Hopefully 'London' see that and it's why Lamont's gone.

Desperation and misogyny, the calling card of a Labour dinosaur.

No "tough luck" for me fella, the only luck you get in life is your own luck.Try it,take a gamble, put your house up and start a business. Lives a gamble,if you lose, pick yourself back up and try again, and if you get knocked down again, keep on going. It's quiet simple businesses sense.

How are the English lessons going?

Good news for Labour. Nats seem to be upset?

im doing cartwheels you dafty.

Dont get me wrong would love to have seen her stay on as things will get worse for labour before they get better. This is just another stop on the journey to labours ultimate destruction in scotland.

Oh yes please ! More than adequate replacement if the Ermine Hunters of the Party refuse to take up the fight.

Complet c**t and easy to vote against.

Oh - and the Bolting Horse comments from Lamont......Priceless !:lol::lol:

Anybody who thinks brown or murphy give a f**k about labour in scotland is deluded. Both are staying in london to wait on their ermine.

Unless he's had a change of heart, Brown is standing down at the election. Murphy also appears to have been sidelined by Miliband.

I quite enjoyed Lamont complaining about London Labour. That would, of course, be the same London Labour who, by virtue of their Scottish MPs, took charge of the Labour No campaign whilst she neglected her leadership duties and continued to hide on the sidelines. She has been a complete and utter failure and is quite probably the worst ever leader of a major political party.

The big problem here is that there's no one to lead Labour at Holyrood between now and 2016. Now it's pretty clear that least one of Murphy, Brown and (less likely) Darling will be coming north of the border to see off wee Nic but there needs to be some kind of opposition to her in the mean time

Maybe Lamont could be offered a peerage in return for giving up her seat early and letting Jim Murphy in to Holyrood within weeks?
