ClydeNewcomer
Been a hard 10 years with a few shining moments, but the latter 7 years of that period has been difficult... John Brown's term as Manager 2 Relegations Watching a whole squad being asked to tear up their contracts or the club go into Administration Getting pumped off the likes of Montrose Seeing our home support go from a solid 900+ to hardly scraping 500 despite much cheaper season tickets The constant shaggings from Queens Park Even simple things, I used to go home raging if we lost, it ruined my Saturday evening. Now? I walk out 5, 10 mins early if I can't be arsed anymore and I forget all about it as soon as I left the car park. We have our problems ahead for sure, but this major burden is finally off our shoulders! And I would like to thank the board and the Clyde fans for getting behind the club. Also, with so many Clyde fans disappearing over the years, and we can't suggest it is our ageing support, I know plenty of lads my age and younger who have fucked off, stopped buying Season Tickets, and just generally don't bother their arses going anymore. Lastly, David Dishon deserved huge praise! The work he has done behind the scenes has been incredible in getting the club to this stage. He took on a mess from a certain accountant who happens to be a partner in a well known Glasgow Accountancy Firm, accounts hadn't been done in 6 months, and he found out that the Rent had not been paid in a long time!! David put together a strategy and a timescale. He has got it spot on! Added to the help of supporters and benefactors, it's been one amazing success! Onwards and upwards and f**k them all! Rangers FC, take note ya p***ks! You are right there. Sad times for the club To be honest the standard of football at clyde now has been the worst it has ever been in the history of the club. It is literally pub team level which fans have a hard time dealing with The teams we had under managers like graham roberts and kernaghan almost getting into the top league are light years away

David W
Good news. We did it properly the second time around and that's something to be proud of.
ShawfieldAggro
Obviously good news, but the current situation with the ground obscures any light at the end of the tunnel. DavidW makes a decent enough point, after going down the CVA route in 2005, in hindsight that should have been the catalyst for the strategy of the club to aim, fairly realistically, at being the top part-time club in the country, instead of running along clearly unmanageable lines. We didn't half get lucky. A fair few of the young players in Roberts' team wouldn't have had that many better offers (per £££) so we wouldn't have necessarily just ended up with the usual.cloggers you get at Alloa, Stranraer or Cowdenbeath, but what we'd give for some of them now. I dont imagine anything will change for the forseeable future, and i dont believe i'm alone in that as no-ones started a game thread on a Friday morning. Foreva n Eva Agreed It's correct to pay your bills, that's as it should be. When it was first announced, the Clyde support "got it". OK fine, we'll go through a period where it's not going to be pretty on the park. What they singularly failed to do was to present a longer term vision "post debt" that the whole support could buy into. If they'd done that, many understood we'd need to bite the bullet short term with a level of longer term optimism. Anyone who thinks such a high percentage of support disappearing in the past few years is entirely down to the standard of football is very much mistaken. They've been provided with absolutely nothing to buy into further compounded by the current "official" plan allied to a name change which for many is the end of the club While the need to have a minimum 5 year renewable lease in place for an SFA licence & the lack of progress by EKCT is making the current plan less likely, as SSB says, it's now entirely in the Club's hands. They've cleared their debt, they now need to put the Club first and unite the support. Everyone knows what that's going to take. They then need to take ownership of the many mistakes they've made from 1994 to now in the local community, and look to rebuild. That may also require changes. It is good news to be debt free, but the question is, what now?
ShawfieldAggro
Fair few of the points i'd make myself, and will probably discuss the morra but im just off a 12 hour shift so im glad someone did. In my lifetime there hasn't been this despondency and apathy...that needs to be addressed rapidly or it WILL stay like this whether anyone comes up with a plan or not. DeanMck
Well done to all involved in finally getting the club out this mess . There was no better thing for me than on a Saturday afternoon going along to see Clyde in the first division knowing we would win almost every game , how I'd love they times again . Even the atmosphere at broadwood was half decent back in those days . With the money not having to go towards paying off our debt each month hopefully a promotion comes fast and we can start building and creating a good football team once more. It is good news to be debt free, but the question is, what now? Absolutely. I'm delighted at the debt news and my mind has been turning to the Elephant in the room - I'd not really said anything on it as it would appear a bit churlish to start on that the minute such good news about the debt has been given - so I'll not go into it, but yes, the whole ground issue and general direction of the club now needs to be addressed if there's to be any kind of chance of getting those who have lost the faith back on side. The debt news is a good stepping stone to build on sorting this out...
cfcuk
great to be debt free and good news story for a change . But as been stated what now ? we have to decided what we are doing in terms of a ground lets draw a line in the sand over EK its either moving there or not 18 months since the vote and the sum of nothing , time to drop the name change for start . The board now have to come up with a plan to unite the support and try and get involved in the local community . Interesting that it is the manager who has stated that we need to get into the local community and not the board . The 9 years have seen the board bring in a period of extreme austerity which was probably needed to get us where we are today ,its now a different ball game. The club cant hide behind we are debt ridden we cant progress . Its time to put a plan in place to get the club back up the leagues.

Time for the Board to listen to the views of all the supporters, not just the Owners. Let's give this Club a future to fight for which doesn't include a name change. Can it happen? Not if we don't make enough noise.
