Very unlucky today :( I thought we had the better chances tbh. Hearts managing to get the 3 points today is a mark of champions IMO. The big boy Sow was honking.

Robbie Neilson looked a cool customer on the touch line with his slim fitting suit

Pleased with the win as Alloa have shown this season that it's a tough place to get anything from. We do need to win these though if we are to win the league.

First round done and 9 points ahead, with Rangers at Tynecastle in this next round.

Just wonderful. 8)

Gutted we didn't get anything today but I've said it time again we need to take performances like today into the games with teams around us but so often this season we're dropping important points while putting in performances against the bigger teams in the league.

Pretty gutted by that. We had the better chances and if either side deserved to win it was Alloa. Ultimately though we didn't take advantage of those chances and then conceded a very poor goal at the end. As such we can't complain. Proud of the performance again and we now need the same from the boys next week in what is a more important game for us.

Fair play to Hearts, looked very ordinary and still went away with the win. Hope you win the league.

I thought that was an outstanding Alloa performance for the full ninety minutes. Really unlucky not to get a draw out of it.

Defensively we limited a free scoring Hearts side to few clear cut chances, we matched them in the middle of the park and we created a few good chances ourselves. Eddie Ferns in particular should have scored when his pace took him clear and for a split second the crowd thought he had repeated his goal against Falkirk last season.

Back four were again excellent, with Benedictus giving a robust and athletic performance; he looks more and more like a good addition to the squad. Ben Gordon was his usual excellent self (although he was beaten for trickery a couple of times and rightly booked for the second trip) and not for the first time had a highly rated forward (in Sow) in his back pocket.

The midfield four were very good individually and even more so as a unit. It says a lot for them that they lasted the full ninety minutes, even old Simmy.

Buchanan (in particular) and Spence worked hard up front.

Hearts looked by far the best team we have faced in the league. They were solid at the back, and had pace throughout the side, especially on the flanks. It was only up front, surprisingly that they looked a bit short. Of course a lot of credit for that should go to the Wasps. They will, however, take a bit of stopping in the race for the championship.

Great to see the Indodrill Stadium full.
