Irvine meadow 1 Beith Juniors 0

After a shaky start ( when meadow almost scored in 10 seconds) the game settled down a bit with meadow having more of the ball .

Meadow just seemed that bit stronger than ourselves all round today and after they scored what turned out to be the winner we had a few half chances and balls that never quite fell right for us in the box but we probably never done enough to gain something from the match today .

Thought Kevin McDonald had a very good game for beith today in his return to an old stomping ground and he was composed all match .

Rob Roy 1-2 Cumbernauld ft

Poor game between 2 teams having an off day. Not helped by both teams being a bit physical.

First half was chronic - United number 5 brought out a good save from the "home" keeper and the United keeper had to get down quickly to save an effort at the near post and that was really that.

Second half saw United score first when the keeper pushed an effort onto the post and I assume it bounced down behind the line as the lino was off straight away and the United players all claimed.

Roy tried to get back into the game but were down to 10 men when a 22 man handbags incident saw the left back get his marching orders - United then appeared to try and hang on to what they had and they were punished by a great finish from one of the Roy subs.

United won the game when the Roy keeper made an absolute howler on a shot he could have thrown his hat on - right down the throat, he caught it and then went backwards into the net. Bizarre to see.

Cumbernauld scored more goals ;) , your keeper had a mare for the winner and your left back got suckered by the United left back who has been doing that sort of stuff for years..

Had to laugh when the Roy striker was in the box and went backwards instead of shooting, try shooting instead of trying to walk the ball into the net.

e2a - the winner also came from a player who wasnt where he was supposed to be, both the manager and Murphy were continually telling him to drop back when the ball came to him and he then set up the shot that led to the goal.

Cumbernauld appear to have gone backwards since last season and that pitch will never hold up being played on every week over the winter, look at the state of it the day after the first real rainfall of the season.

Yeah our left back is actually a midfielder not his position. Should have known better to push guy. Tackle looked a red to me and still not convinced the ball was over line for first 'goal '.

Took in the ardeer game today, Some great football played by ardeer but yokers number 11 was diff class, always causing problems. Few good saves from ardeers keeper near the end and tbh if the young lad upfront took his chances and didn't waste the ball so much it could have been an win for Ardeer with the chances they created. I was impressed by the style of football the new ardeer manager has introduced, Neat 1-2s and players not afraid to take others on. Central midfielders were lacking today imo. But yoker on the counter attack were good. Unlucky for ardeer but good win for yoker on another day it could have been a home win if chance were took. Defo a team who will not go down without a fight.

Ardeer 0-1 Yoker
