Should Rangers fans admit that Hearts are the model to follow?

Recommended Posts

They've got it spot on this season. Strong blend of good youngish players and and a couple of excellent experienced players signed for this level. Raising money to actually save the club as opposed to a "fighting fund" (lol) shows the Grand Canyon of class between Hearts and Sevco fans as well. Seems like the latter really are too thich a bunch of people to sustain any kind of business.

Not quite true that they didn't throw the toys out the pram at any stage though. The whinging about health and safety thing last year was pretty laughable stuff.

I think equating a Billy Brown rant in a press conference to being the thoughts of Hearts as a collective entity might be being a bit economical with the truth.

Billy Brown rant / Top down whinging actually resulting in a revocation request from the acting board of Hearts.

Pinning that soley on poor Billy would be more than economical with the truth. It's academic anyway as Hearts' very occasional precious moments were absolutely nothing in comparison to the tsunami of snotters and temper tantrums from Govan. I was nitpicking with the OP, Hearts absolutely went about it the right way compared to Rangers.

Hearts are going well at the moment. That may or may not continue of course.

Equally obviously, many Rangers fans are unhappy about the way things have been run. For example, many wanted more youth players in the team before the Hearts situation occurred (though as it happens quite a lot of youth players have been given a chance to some extent or another).

Hearts now are quite a respectable outfit and it's hard to not cast a jealous gaze at them.

My problem with them is no team should be successful on the back of all the cheating they did for almost a decade.

They won cups cheating

They split the old firm cheating

They lorded it over their Derby rivals cheating

They were punished with a league rule that deducts points for an insolvency event. That ended in a relegation to a very competitive championship where they may just have their best season in years.

If the Scottish football authorities tried to punish the Jambos for years of taking the pish, they managed the opposite.

How this puts other clubs off the idea of copying them. I will never know.

In what way did hearts cheat? Have Barca,Real Madrid and man utd been cheating for years? All in massive debt but still paying top dollar for players. Romanov came in and made us his toy and spent money that wasn't his, hardly equates to Hearts cheating.

I think that people often forget that the bulk of the debt was built up during the Pieman's time.

Romanov's failing was that he was terrible at the business side. Useless at dealing with agents and the inland revenue.

Romanov's failing was that the rest of his business empire started to collapse just after he'd bought a football team.

You've missed the Duff & Gray era Hibs of that list.

Their only hope to avoid receivership was to sell Easter road to property developers and get the council to develop Meadowbank into some kind of community stadium.

simply hearts cant afford to spend on 'big players' , so to say they choose youth over spending isnt a viable statement at all . rangers owners are an embrassment and so is the sfa for allowing this to happen, how can the easdales ever pass a fit and proper person test ?.

when hearts have a good bank balance and still play with youth then your post will have a point but until then it does not.

im amused also that a hearts fan is stupid enough to boast about there great run club after the past few years and have a CVA in place.

From the standard of your post, I'd also wager that you're amused by the noise they metal doorstop coils make when you flick them.
