The depth of a frying pan isn' guaranteed to give you enough space to land the flat bit of the pan flush against a wall. A deeper wok - preferably with flat bottom for greater contact capacity - would easily allow for a full on flush spider welly. @KnightswoodBear will confirm this assumption hopefully.
