..and you could have had great odds you could have had on one of those teams a couple of months ago. ;)

Couldn't mind what thread we discussed it on but was trying to get in first as I knew you'd remind me! ;-) long way to go though.......but you seem one of the real form teams right now

Near enough.

12 points from City's last should do it.

12 points from here? Takes them to 50. Spartans would only need 8 wins from their last eleven to surpass that which is about the pace they've been on for the last 11 games. Cities magic number seems to be 62 points to guarentee, which is 8 wins in last 12. Everyone has to expect that they can't keep up the rate they've been on so they should be due some losses and draws which could make it very interesting indeed. They also don't seem to have many players in te squad who will be used to challenging for titles- add in te fact the manager hasn't either and it's still all to play for.

Ok, City have.12 games left.

Say, at worse, win 5, lose 5, draw 2.

That will do it.

It might do. Can Gretna win 9 of their last ten to top them? You guys are playing well just now and seem to be a little more consistent.

Sure spartans would back themselves to get nine wins from last twelve too although the emotions of their cup run could be holding them back a bit.

Think it once again shows the strength in depth of the league. Club at bottom goes to champions who are unbeaten since the summer months, and gets a win and clean sheet. So t think this sort if thing happens in highland league and it's defo not been happening in junior super leagues of late. The temptation would be to say it show the league isn't actually full of quality- but based on the fact that spartans beat a full time league one side and therefore have undoubted quality- it's refreshing to see that this type of result can happen. Add to that the fact that two teams are now above them in the league and that ww could win their game in hand and be a point behind and it makes for a very interesting and high quality league IMO.

Didn't they get a decent result at rosewell with their new manager (at the time) when everybody thought would be a walkover. 2 points dropped by ww when clearly Preston were on the up :o

Oh and did nae realise it was a 3 horse race :D

Only one team can have a bigger fall than foinavon in that grand national all them years ago and good luck to them ;)

Gretna have played Willie Kidd's side twice and scoring 8 without conceding any.

Just saying like :P

Looks like the possibility of a couple of midweek long away trips to make him even more upset.

Realistically though, it's the Lilywhites league to lose now.

Still unbeaten whilst Spartans have lost three & Gretna four, even if both of them manage to turn them over, they've still got to hope the others do them favours if they've to overtake City, and with both showing more a tendency to be the ones dropping silly points (plus Spartans having a very important big kids cup match still to play), it's more likely that the gap is going to get bigger, not smaller.
