Thank f**k we sorted things in the second half. Not much better but enough to get past a rotten Airdrie side. Oh, and Marc Fitzpatrick really is an angry young man. Airdire's first goal was a peach, it was going to take a goal like that for your first goal of the league season as you created absolutely nothing after that I don't think Gaston had a save to make all game. We were much better in the second half although it wouldn't be hard we couldn't have played any worse. We actually started creating some chances and getting balls into the box. I thought McKee had a really good game, saved us from a one on one and played Barrowman in for his goal with a nice through ball. He hit the ball out of play for a Morton throw-in and despite the linesman & referee giving a Morton throw-in he ran to the touch line picked up the ball and tried to take a throw in. He was standing there like a looney for about a minute wondering why no Airdire players were moving into space to receive the ball and the linesman had to run up the touch line and tell him it was a Morton ball He then threw the ball into the ground and had a wee strop much to the amusement of the cowshed, Pleasing. The difference was that Morton have enough quality to mean they look like scoring even when not playing well, we don't. Our defence is not bad for this level, and I think if given something to work with our strikers could score goals, our issue is we have no midfield. We need to keep that up next week though if we want to get anything from it, as that should be a much tougher game. Airdrie weren't awful, but when Marc Fitzpatrick's playing in midfield for you... Hands was rightly hooked at HT and we improved - a bit. Great equaliser and then enough to push on for the win. Fooling no one though, a decent team would have been out of sight by the break.
