cmontheloknow
I play 5s with one of the Lochgilphead players, will try to remember and ask how their travel to Glasgow every other week is funded. No ferries involved but still a 70 mile journey each way for most away games. Just on this point again, the Lochgilphead players are obliged to pay into a fund every month while a local business (which is their shirt sponsor) also helps with their costs. HibeeJibee
Didn't say a word about league 2 teams a dont recall? As a said was speakin about senior 3rd division where crowds are fairly poor. What is the average attendance of a 2nd division senior team? Is there any juniors that match them? Last season the division average for SPFL2 [it isnt called the Third Division nowadays] was 469. Highest was 626 (Stirling Albion), lowest was 343 (East Stirlingshire). Only they and Annan - 363 - drew under 400. Barely any non-leaguers will match those. Two seasons ago in what is now SPFL1 [previously the Second Division] - as last season was 'skewed' by Rangers - the division average was 687. LongTimeLurker
...and that will be the genuine attendance. Not sure what the SPFL is up to these days, but in years past in the SFL things like unused comp tickets were included in the attendance numbers that were sent to the newspapers. lokforever
that's not including season tickets or other freebies, such as committee men/women.
archieb
that's not including season tickets or other freebies, such as committee men/women. Not sure what you mean by that Davie?? If it's still Pollok attendances you're referring to, then there are NO season tickets issued. The equivalent is club membership, and members can enter by a separate gate but ARE counted, and are hardly freebies!
lokforever
I mean't the away teams committee, I know it's a membership but I was told they were not counted in the attendance.

cmontheloknow
lochgilphead red star? Yeah. And just to echo Achie, the Lok figures are the 3 cash turnstiles plus anyone coming in the 'paid up front' members gate which is physically counted too every game. So 4 gates in total.
